His books had a good storyline but I could not stand how he always wrote after-the-fact. "The trolls jumped out out of the woods and attacked us. We killed many of them."
Would drive me nuts, never even finished the first book.

He's a terrible writer, quite possibly even worse than Robert Jordan, I dunno how people can evern read Brooks's stuff tbh.

Other then Jordans horribly incessant repetition of descriptions he did an awesome job with holding his stories together. I have not made it past book five, considering the first 5 could be condensed into 3 books . But that is my opinion and everyone knows the adage between those and *******s.

well, spent several hours on the beach where I caught several waves, then drove the several miles home, now I go to class then finish my homework for several classes

Couldn't stand Sword of Shannara. If 'a bit cliche' means 'complete rip off lord of the rings' then I agree  (though I'm told it gets more into it's own further on in the series)
I could tolerate Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, but got frustrated with how unneccesarily bulked up it was, and how all the female characters are pretty much the same.

This tbh, it does feel like LOTRs all over. I agree with you on Jordan and how he writes about women.
