This games comes out in 2009 . CCP will have some serious competition and realise that mistakes must not be made .
Thanks for the link. this does look really interesting. Especially this "In Infinity, you are directly controlling your ships movements and weaponry in a twitch-based way, targeting your every movement. Your own skills and dexterity as a player make the difference, not a list of stats or skills on your character sheet!"
I do feel sometimes that this game is going down hill and people at ccp are moving away from what made eve great. Looking out for other space mmo's. But i have loads invested in eve and i wont be leaving any time soon

Who says i want to pilot a capital ship. In X3 i dont like flying those or other huge things. Far to slow. I like the fighters and battleships.
well yeah I never said it should turn you off to the game just saying :)
fair enough

Infinity poses a massive threat as the devs seem to have looked at what EVE players want, and put it into Infinity.
For example, Planetary Flight and being able to paint your ship.
Some players will jump on the twitch combat, newtonian physics and compliance to astrophysics. Sense of scale appears to be very good.
Oh, and judging by the concept art and renders... the ships aren't 80% Ugly design abominations either.
Yes and also by the fact that you will posssibly be able to own your own planet, station, city etc Also it will have planet interaction from the start so i will be very interested.

Originally by: Benco97 I'm not that interested in "Twitch based combat" for a space sim myself, just means my arthritic hands won't stand a chance at all, great fun knowing I'll loose every fight no matter what and the guy with the best mouse wins
Also, surely it just means every fight will be a "Dogfight", two ships twirling around trying to get behind the other? If engage -> twirl -> shoot is more exciting than Engage -> keep your ranges, speeds, transversal correct -> shoot, all it means is you have to move the mouse more.
Fair point, i think its up to a persons opinion really. i really like EVE but i also enjoyed X3, Freelancer and Tacyon - The Fringe, they all allowed you to have decent dogfights using a joystick or mouse and keyboard. I like fighting that way but i also like EVE way. Sometimes, bit dull when you turn on guns and wait in eve.
