My alt is 4 days away from being able to fly my first HAC, an Ishtar. I am well experienced in fitting a PVE Dominix but alas my PVP sucks resulting in not killing anything. I need to get HAS to level 4/5 to fit all my favorite drones in.
Drones skills are good-mostly at level 5 for the ones that matter & tec2 tank. I also have AWU5.
I want to be able to pummel targets at range with tec2 Wardens so the fit needs to take this into account for maximum range. It would also be nice for once not to worry about being scrammed-or be able to deal with this and those pesky inti's.
So-if somebody can come up with a good fit for me to play around in with my new toy that would be great. I wont worry about loosing this ship as it is a learning ship so the experience will be good. Those of you who have killed me loads of times know that I don't cry when my toy goes bang!

Good advice but I'm a carebear really so 250 Million is peanuts when you can farm AE for a week & I cant pack in as many of my favorite drone toys.

I hardly think a tec2 fit is pimped out. How can you ever get comfortable in a class of ship without flying it. A Vexor is not an Ishtar as an example given so I hardly feel comfortable getting used to a ship I'm not going to use much. I think I'll stick to the tactic of getting used to what I want to fly for a long time and the Ishtar currently suits me nicely as it will compliment my 5 million plus drone skill points.
If I loose a few-it is only virtual money & pixels so no real loss except for my pride and your gain on the kill mail. |

I see Wardens being deployed in a gatecamp to attack stray battleships with my Ishtar supported with some friends. Inti's would be better attacked with fast light drones & maybe a neut-if you ever got close enough.
I thank all of you for your insights.

All i use is sentries if u know how to use them they are v.good
Tell me how you use them particulary with regard to an Ishtar deploying them

Originally by: Domin Mae Not to be a d1ck, but you can lose ten Vexors for the cost of an Ishtar and you'd probably learn a lot more in the process. If you're good in a Vexor -- a less capable ship compared to the Ishtar -- then you should be damned amazing in an Ishtar. Just my thoughts, but hey, you pay to play, enjoy.
I see the sense in your discussion. I am going to take the middle road. I'm going to buy 2 or 3 Vexors & the Ishtar. Learn about the Vexor & then fly the Ishtar for a few weeks in Empire-you never know I might come across a war target then see how things go.

Originally by: Dr Sheepbringer And when you do go pop, don't always assume that the fitting was bad etc. it might have been the perfect fit, but lack of experience or just plain simply bad luck that you got popped.
Sadly it would be lack of experience or bad luck. I really no nothing about PVP-anybody out there want to teach me?-I will give somebody 100 million ISK if they rise to the challenge of teaching a complete noob but with reasonable skills

Originally by: Uhr Zylex The secret to success is fitting lasers. I'm not even joking, I have over 50 solokills in the last month with this setup.
The ishtar is skill intensive and requires some actual reflexes and knowledge to fly. Those who have achieved the mysterious identity can not be approached, and they can not be alienated.
I agree with all of this on the skill front. The Alt who is flying the Ishtar has good skills including 5 million skill points in drones but always has been a PVE participant.
Whilst the ship may be to advanced for a novice PVP player one is forced not to ignore the drone skills which are fairly good. It is a bit of a rock & a hard place whether to go with this ship class but only time will tell.

Originally by: Boz Well Enjoy the ishtar for now. If CCP's wonderful changes go through, you'd be better off with a Domi in 90% of PVP situations.
I really have no experience with the Ishtar as I cant sit in her (my alt) until Sunday so I really have no expectations.
