CCP, please make market orders created as corp market orders modifiable by other corp members. At the moment only the creator of a corp market order is able to modify it.
This could open for true trading corps, where different corp members could manage corp orders across time zones. At the moment market trading is more like a one-man venture because he is only one who can manage that particular order anyway.
At best, create a new skill and a new role for this.

I'd be curious as to why this isn't in place already, because it seems like common sense. ------------------ Fix the forums! |

I know I suggested this like a hundred years ago, but glad to see the idea being brought up again.

If I understand correctly the reason it is not already in place is that someone given the roles to do so could really mess up your orders. That being said, I would hope anyone who has been given the power to make a buy or sell order on behalf of the corp is trusted in the first place.
Trust = no need for the current rule.
I would be fine with allowing my corp mates to change some of my orders and that would be something we would work out between ourselves.

I love this idea. As pointed out, it will be a great thing for trading corporations and encourages working together as a group.

I suppose that was probably the reason, but anyone who has the power to make corp orders can screw you up badly already. Who doesn't want to buy Tritanium at 100 per unit? If you want security, have an limit on how much money each player with roles can play with(settable per-member by the CEO), but don't impede usability for a fairly small benefit to security. ------------------ Fix the forums! |

Very much needed. This would mean I can actually take a vacation to visit 0.0 once in a while, since I won't have to stay in Empire to manage all the corp's market orders.
Obviously it needs to be looked at some to ensure it's secure -- make sure one can only edit market orders made using a wallet division you have access to, and that an audit log is generated, and I don't think one would be able to do more damage with this feature than without.
This is a really great thing, it would be absolutely wonderful for my corp, and probably most other corps that do any of the following: trading, buying of large amounts of good, or selling of large amounts of goods.
Which probably means a fair number of corps. ________________________________ This is not a signature. |

1000% Agree and signed.
Should be part of the corp trader role and key off wallet access.
ofc I also think we should have a new Galactic Sales Order Management skill along the lines of the corp mgmt skills to expand control of orders beyond one region at a time. After all some people just dont have the RL money to afford multi accts to sit alts in each sales region who dont do anything buy post and modify sales orders.

Edited by: LaVista Vista on 06/09/2008 17:24:49 I would appreciate if people would stop the supporting now and would like to discuss this further. I have written up a submission template which looks like this:
Quote:
Make corporation market orders modifiable by others than owner It should be possible for characters with the right corporation standings to change all corporation market orders. This has the benefit of making it easier to run corporation wide trading operations and work together as a team. The only identifiayble problem that we have could come up with is the question of who will pay for the order being filled. There could be several ways of griefing which could be done in this way, if there is no way of stopping people from increasing prices on orders by 100+%

Game/Forum/etc. area(s) affected AreaEffect CorporationsIt will make it easier to run corporation wide market operations Pros òBetter options for teamwork òLess alt problems
Cons òIf a person makes a mistake, then it could be expensive! òCould open up for griefing. But thatÆs eve.
CSM Recommendation/Request to CCP / Further information required ò Please let us know if doing this is at all technically possible. òIf it is, please look into actually doing this.
Thank you!

Well.. first of all.. I do support it
But there is another problem right now, if the person who created the market order looses his/her roles all market orders are deleted. The only way I see this working is to make the corp wallet you use for creating the order also be the owner of the order.

I'd like to note that if it's tied to corp wallet divisions permissions, then that eliminates a lot of griefing potential. ________________________________ This is not a signature. |

This would benefit corps, sure, but how is a lone trader supposed to compete with a corp full of players constantly subtracting 1 isk from their corp's orders? It's hard enough for the little guy as is.
