I bought the EVE novel from White Wolf's online store and I got a hardcover for about $46. It also came autographed by Tony Gonzoles which was nice. It arrives in about a week and the book was very nice. Binding and everything was of good quality.
It was a large book of a bit over 500 pages and 70+ chapters. I started reading it and was drawn into the book since the beginning. As far as editing there was a couple spelling errors that made it to press. The story was really good and I enjoyed it. It was a bit difficult to keep track of all the differant characters in the book but I managed. BTW Karsoth is a very evil man and I want to torture him when ambulation comes. LOL The book is very adult as there were several sex scenes, a **** scene and people dying gruesome deaths all over. Dark but thats EVE and I expected that.
However I was really dissapointed that CCP did not change some in game information to reflect what happened in the book. Sure there is the station that is all blown up in Malkalen (which you can still dock at. Why? Move everyones stuff to another station and make that station inoperable) and the Caldari Titan over Caldari Prime, but when I look at the info for some Caldari corps nothing changed. Caldari Constructions still has the CEO that died in the book and I'm sure Isukone probably still has Otro as thier CEO as well. Tibus Heth should be listed as CEO of several corps now and he is not. It would be nice to get the in game info to match the book. Since the book is prime fiction.
Also kinda cool how all the CONCORD station destruction and all the fleet fights and planetary invasions happened during the 1 hour of DT and it was written into the book that way.
Any way CCP can change the in game info on this stuff?

Edited by: Gil Danastre on 28/08/2008 18:39:00 I think with regards to the CEO names still being now dead people, CCP said they would be changing them all at once. Though they've changed the Minmatar Republics' leader to Maleatu Shakor already, so i'm not sure why the delay is there.
And the Malaken station wasn't destroyed, just badly damamged.

This brings up an interesting idea for destructable outposts.
I'm going to go post it in features and ideas discussion now.

Yeah, CONCORD hasn't quite got round to updating their databases yet
It's a bit of a fiddly job to do and there's a few more changes that need to be made still that we have planned in, so we're hoping to batch them all up and shuffle them into the live DB once everything's ready in that respect.
Also, Shakor should be still showing up in his former role as head of the Republic Parliament, whereas Midular is both head of the Sebiestor Tribe and also Prime Minister of the Republic as a whole. At least, that's the way I understand the heirarchy system in the Republic.

Im curious aobut the technology used for Naglfars. At the sanctuary they was 3km tall, but when they came to Yulai they had grown to 4km. Rock is overpowered, please nerf. Paper is fine.

I'd just like to add that while the story is excellent if TonyG writes "could care less" out of context again, or the word "volumetric" more than 15 times in his next book I shall be forced to... cry.

To steal blatantly from another thread perhaps this might help poor Father Gonzalez.

I hope you plan to update to a more dynamic system rather than doing batch updates every 4 years...

And if you use the Ship Size Comparison Image as a reference you will find that it is ~16x taller than the Effel Tower, making it 5km tall.

Guys, dimensions, perception and such are horribly broken, I could look up several threads discussing this but I am too lazy so I'm going with lurk moar.

Well I didn't really spoil anything since this is all information that has already happened in the game. Beleive me, there is plenty in this book to surprise you.
But yeah, its not really a spoiler if I said there is a carrier piloted by Admiral Noir that crashed into a station right? No, but if I told you WHO that Admiral actually was then I would spoil something... which I won't do.
[SPOILER ALERT!!!!]
I also wanted to know, the book never talks about if the Broker got what he wanted or not in the end. I was curious if that happened since the Minmitar force got the Insorum anyway, did the Broker get some?

I suspect that was intentionally left out so that they keep their options open for future prime fiction, given the usefulness of that character for future plot development, I doubt that we have seen the last of him.
