bottom line, the initial pictures suck....
Yeah, perhaps CCP could hire Ron Jeremy to help provide a size refrence photo as to how long the sips are
OMG, I haven't laughed that much in a while. Thank you.
PS - I have no idea what you're talking about. Absolutely none. Not a clue. Who is Ron Jeremy? are his arms particularly long or something?

I dont object to the price of the models per se, as people say, compated to cmic character models they are comparable, what irritates me is the idea of shelling out almost $50 in postage charges.
Q: Where are the vast majority of ccp customers? A: Europe
Given that the models were 99% likely made andf inished in China why the hell are you shipping them from the US so the vast part of your customer base needs to pay insanely expensive shipping charges?

Edited by: Rhatar Khurin on 31/08/2008 11:35:54 If you can't afford them, don't buy them. Simple logic tbh. Although if you really want something similar checkout - Linkypops thread and make them out of paper.

I bought a warhound titan from them back in 1996. The do nice work. (although they're a LOT bigger than the EVE ships and more detailed)

The eve shop is quite expensive in general anyway, if you look at the eve book, hardback version, it's about $40 there, or on amazon you can have it for about ú13 or around $26 __________________

Actually, I think they are being manufactured in the US and shipped via FedEx. Sainton Design is based out of the UK, but I don't think there are any companies that manufacture these models in the UK. I know that the US has several companies that specialize in these types of products. I suspect they chose one of those, rather than ship all the way from China.
Perhaps someone from CCP can confirm that? Tactical Logistics using the last T1 Frigate hull!

I'd rather build and paint them myself, that's what makes 'models' fun for me.

You are forgetting that the currency conversion from EUR to USD pays for the shipping...

To be honest, us players in the US have been getting shafted for ages on shipping for EVE stuff, it's about time we caught a break.

You'll be shafted less, but FedEx is pretty expensive regardless of where it is being shipped. Personally UPS would have been a better choice, they're a lot cheaper and they can handle packages with care just as much as FedEx does. But it is CCPs choice to go with FedEx (although I assume they share warehouse space with WhiteWolf in the US, so it is probably WWs carrier of choice aswell)

Free shipment. Just ordered me a tempest. Ships also get some discount, so i think 1 ship cost me $106. If only 40K was so cheap... updating my army for the new edition cost me $900 in unpainted models. |
