Will it be the first successful game to movie conversion ever? I HATE movies that are based on games because they all suck, but for some reason, maybe its due to walbergh, I get the feeling this wont suck.
I could ofcorse be wrong. Judging from the trailer it doesn't seem like foul cheese, it looks cheddar like.

Been in production for a while now, and known about for almost a year I think.
Bioshock and Max Payne movies actually look good.

What is with this religion crap and all. The game was about big time conspiracy not some feking demons / angels. Stupid hollywood studio bosses and their influence.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think thats hallusinations. You know, as like in the game. There was that thing about fallen angels or whatever it was.

I am looking forward to it but am fully expecting to be let down. If I start from that perspective then I cannot be disappointed.

Doesnt make it a good movie. I think the first Resident Evil went ok at the cinemas aswell, but dont quote me on that.

Yeah, I ment successful as in 'we successfully created a movie based on a game and it didnt suck'.

I kinda liked the first one, second one sucked.

Although the trailer does skew it a little towards a religious theme, those angels are hallucinations from taking valkyr, he's not actually doing a constantine

I think Resident Evil did ok, the first one anyway, was pretty good. The second sucked and the third was on par with the first.

Given that they have Ludacris playing Jim Brauvura, clearly they have no idea how to cast properly for the roles. I'll see it in theatres because I like Max Payne but I'm not holding my breath for this to be a "done right" video game adaptation. It's almost impossible to do them right anymore.

Wing Commander? - for some reason i loved it

I'm hopeful, I honestly am. When I saw the cast list way back I was mortified at Kunis and Ludacris as Mona and Bravura, but after seeing the trailer... my faith is restored. Ludacris actually looks like he kinda fits Bravura, and I'm not totally unconvinced that Kunis makes a bad Mona anymore. Might be touch and go, but I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt before I see it.
It looks like MP, it feels like MP, it gave me shivers like MP used to. I'm really hopeful.
Now who wants to be the first person to kick me in the crotch after I see it in the cinema and its terrible?

All those movies were utter crap, minus Final Fantasy and Doom even though Final Fantasy had nothing to do with the games.
The rest of the movies in your list was friggin horrible.

It wasn't about demons and angels per se, but the movie did heavilly involve some norse mythology. Aesir, Ragnarok, Valkyrie, to name a few.

The game also had that stuff. The 'death of fallen agnels' or whatever it was. In any case, I hope they havent messed up the plot with a bunch of magic.

The trailer looks like yet another crappy action film - now with added demons and other supernatural stuff.
It will suck like all other computer games made into movies.
EDIT: dunno if there are demons in the game. Never played it.

they took the hallucination bit of Max Payne and ran with it in this movie as a full-blown paranormal thing.
****ed up, I say. At least they stuck to one true thing, the look and slow-mo feel of Max Payne's gunfights...
