Does the Warp Stabilizers negative effect on total weapon range take effect for the duration that it is fitted to the ship, or just when it is activated? cheers Zukth Fu

Penalty is there as long as ship is fitted with said module, doesnt matter if online of offlined.
Unless you are fitting for travel, just dont fit it.

Edited by: Bish Ounen on 30/08/2008 02:39:16 WCS are a "passive" module that doesn't require activation, so the answer is "the duration they are fitted to your ship". Unless you offline them while in space. (right-click, offline module) Of course, once you offline them, you may not be able to online them again until docked. Off lining module has no effect on the penalty.

Just to be pedantic, the negative effect is on the targetting range and scan resolution of your ship, not the weapon range.

Off lining module has no effect on the penalty.
That and you don't need to dock to online a module, you just need to have 95% cap.

Offlining the module does eliminate the range penalty.

While you're mostly right let me add a bit more pedantery and point out that limiting target range means limiting your max weapons range too. ;-) --- Save the forum: Think before you post. ISK BUYER = LOOSER EVE TV- Bring it back!

Not if those weapons are large smartbombs.
[I neither condone or approve of this kind of behavior, but it's still damned funny]

Well, to be very pedantic, the weapon still has the same range.
Its maxium useable range may have been reduced. Or just stick on a sensor booster and all is well again. Except for your ship setup, which is in the toilet.
