Ok I am having major problems with this. I see the checkbox which says sun occludes behind ships... I check it, but when I play the game, the sun doesn't occlude behind ANYTHING. Whats up with that? It's really starting to annoy me seeing the sun through ships, let alone planets =/.
I have the latest graphics drivers (nVida GeForce 4 MX 440) and it didn't work with several older ones either. I have a P4 2.26Ghz, 512MB RAM and dx9.0b. I don't suppose anybody has the answer? My name is Lister, and this is my SHOP! We're open 24/7... that means everyday we open at 24 minutes passed 7! Success is all in the details.

It happened also to me, then I realize a fact: The shiness of the sun is really big. You have to occlude it with a very big object, otherwise the radiosity around the occluding object will make it "see through". It's an optical effect. In fact I'm able to occlude or partially occlude the sun when I'm really near some big object and it will cover the sun and its radiosity radius. I can also have partial occlusions in these occasions. Even with my ship I can occlude the sun only if I zoom near the ship and she will become bigger than the sun and its radiosity. Check if that's your case, otherwise you have a bug.

The sun occludes properly on my Geforce 4 Ti, but not on the GeForce 3 I use at work. Both are running 45.23 drivers, so it looks like it might be a hardware issue of some kind.

Sun won't occlude either on my GeforceFX 5600, latest drivers. It's not driver related I think, I have tried a lot of driver versions, nothing helps.
