Well, I saw the post below and thought I'd make one of my own. I'm about to take about a month break while I'm moving and am going to queue a skill that will take advantage of the long break. First off, I can fly HACs, BCs and CS(Sleip) Minmatar ships. My goal for this character is to be heavy cruiser class focused (CS more so than most). I just got the skills to fly the Sleipnir but haven't purchased one yet.
Below are the skills I am considering moving to V over the break.
Heavy Drone Operation IV *most my ships don't have room for Ogre II's though Drone Interfacing IV Shield Management IV Warfare Link Specialist IV *command processor Cybernetics IV *needed for mindlinks Propulsion Jamming IV *need V if I want to try the broadsword Command Ships IV
I wanted to do my Siege or Skirmish Specialization to V but I just started on those 2 skills and don't have enough time to get to IV before my account expires; missed it by like 3 days! Anyways, most my shield skills that aren't listed is either V or a quick 5 day IV-V and my guns are Auto and Arty specialized IV's with support IV's or V's as well so nothing needed in gunnery. Missle skills are a bit weak and I could do Heavy Specializations maybe.
Any thoughts on which to set or any suggestions on some skills that I missed that would be very beneficial to a CS pilot?
On a side note: As a PvP pilot which would you rather have in wing command: Skirmish or Siege spec pilot?
Thank in advance.

I would go for drone interfacing.

If you have any intention of flying a Typhoon, Heavy Drone spec V. Otherwise, Drone Interfacing V. That's my opinion.

Drone Interfacing as it will help every single drone every single time in every single ship.

True, but nobody sees drone interfacing. Launch non-t2 drones, and you're considered a failure. Beyond that, t2 ogres are better then drone interfacing V....-if- you're flying a ship capable of fielding them. I think. Maybe. Most likely? For what you fly, Interfacing is probably best. Battleship 5 isn't a bad time-filler either, and if you're out for a full month you can keep training for an extra couple weeks that way(similarly, Command Ships is also rank 8 - it does less stuff, but it's more relevant to you). But I'd go with Interfacing, since you're not going for a Typhoon. |

Interfacing. And its another bite out of one day possibly flying a carrier should you decide to head the cap ships route ever. |

Train a high rank skill. The rank 3's such a sprop jamming and the like wont take up a month's worth of time, and knocking something else out is always helpful.
BS, CS 5 are great choices because depending on learning skills they should last you about the month. Drone Interfacing 5 is definitely worth it regardless to, especially if you spec in mid size ships, heavy drones 5 isn't overly useful. Having T2 mediums hitting that hard though... is sexy |

Drone Interfacing 5 if you exclusively fly with lights or meds in the bay. |

Edited by: Felix Dzerzhinsky on 02/09/2008 04:17:14 If you train DI 5, then follow that up with Combat Drone Operation to 5 - its like 12 days to 5.
As for command - Skirmish and Armor spec in the Claymore (roaming) or Damnation (Fleet) is the way to go. Its all about the mindlink. Overall, Information is fantastic if you use a lot of EW (its really underrated imo) and Siege is only really good with capitals. |

I would go for Cyber V, it opens up some nice implants (not only +5's but also hardwires and mindlinks). Failing that either Propulsion jamming (as you need it for something you want to fly) or Drone interfacing. |

The first thing you have to decide is how bad do you want to fly a Broadsword.
If thats a priority then you have answered the question.
If not see the answers above. |

Seriously, who cares if someone thinks you're a failure because you're launching t1 drones? Unless you're battleship-heavy, DI 5 is far more useful.
Also, I wouldn't consider training one of shorter skills in there, just pick something that will run (nearly) the entire month, or it's just wasted time.

Edited by: Sojourne on 02/09/2008 23:51:42 Thanks for all the help everyone. After a couple days thinking about it and reading over whats in this thread I'm down to 2 choices. Either going to go CS5 or DI5. I do fly BS ships but only for PvE cause my training in them isn't the greatest as far as Large Gun Specialization, Large Missile Bays and whatnot. Also I figure my CS ships should replace them even on the PvE front after some more training. As far as looking good having Ogre II's out that doesn't really concern me. I was just looking into the Ogre II's for PvE sake in my Typhoon, but like I said above my CS should be able to do everything a BS can do PvE wise without too much difficulty and in PvP I'd rather have my opponents eyes widen when my medium drones catch them unexpectedly :)
But the choice is a bit difficult between the last 2. CS5 gives me a better damage boost than DI does on command ships only of course and the Tracking, falloff and Skirmish Link bonuses doesn't hurt either. But on the other hand DI does open the door for Carriers later on but I haven't really thought about that line, since with support skills it would take forever to be comfortable in one and the isk cost alone is a figure I doubt I'd ever see in my Eve lifetime. But it does give a nice bonus to all ships that I fly instead of just one line. Meh, got a couple days so it'll probably be a knee-jerk reaction before the account expires :) Thanks again for all the input, very much appreciated!
Edit: Also I decided against the broadsword and the Cyber is a nice one to take but since I might be gone a month the 15 days it takes for V might be ill spent.
