Because
-They're not overwhelmingly powerful tools -Everybody has found ways to circumvent the standings requirements -Having jumpclones encourages newer players to go into low and nullsec because they can leave their expensive implants out of danger.
I'm sure it's been suggested before. |

Being forced to corp hop for them is stupid, and tying them to standings that canly be gained via mission running was silly in the first place. Tying them to stations with a corp office or something would make more sense. -áhttp://i.imgur.com/aWNfM.jpg |

I agree completely. Grinding for +8 standing takes a really long time just for the ability to install a jump clone. Support showing T2 and faction frequency crystal damage in the info window! |

You could just make it so that the standings are positive, or simply not negative, keeps it simple and lets new players be able to get jump clones quickly and easily to get them out into low or null. WoW holds your hand until end game, and gives you a cookie whether you win or lose. EVE not only takes your cookie, but laughs at you for bringing one in the first place... |

1. Remove jump clones 2. Remove med clones updating 3. Add SP loss equivilent to the T3 for every ship blown out from under you except rookie and shuttles. 4. ??? 5. PROFIT! Welcome to a risky universe. Not only do you need to schlep the entire way around the galaxy, you have trippled the amount of risk and made players at least 10 times more risk adverse...because they now lose something of value when their ship goes pop followed by the pod.
Or, you could unwhine how hard mission running is...because really its not hard at all. Its part of that "investing for future possibilties and possible feeling of loss when you didn't after you fck up" that makes up the game. Also, its not so bad because LP = bonus 15% damage from ammo. Which isn't a bad thing.
And to circumvent the 8.0 standing, you train to use cloning facility *\o/* (<-- me doing victory dance showing the entire thread was pointless). Hardcore pilot, met industrial ship Rorqual.
So yeah, just go run missions. Its like...5 days tops if you are even remotely effective at it for a few hours a day and level 4 social skills. Make it a group effort, done. Goes faster with even 3 people.
edit: And I have 8.5 standing with a newb corp, cause I did it for *****. They are not affected by social skills except for a bonus rep increase, but...its a newb corp which = terrible missions to get a med clone for jumping |

I think cutting the cooldown to 12 hours is more important. Really, who needs to get the standings more then once? If at all, with JC service corps out there. Nonetheless, supported, it's excessive given the reward. |

wut? missions are too hard? isnt half this forum devoted to mission being too easy? and thus players have no reason to go to low/nullsec? really? jumpclones? im betting you havent talked to any of the services out there, used to be you could charge isk for that sort of thing, but then estel arador made it free,
and now your whining about even that?
from what i understand of the ideology of missions and hisec in general, is that its supposed to be some sort of training ground for going into the scarier places of eve. Missions are a way for a new player to pass the time training weapons/ships/everything so that they can afford to go lose things to all you ubermensch out there. getting to 8.0 standings is not difficult, just occasionally long. and thats only cause i killed a lot of caldari along the way.
of course you could always talk to a rorqual pilot like whaytshisface said before, but given how antagonistic everyone seems to be towards miners i dunno if any of them still offer this service publicly. you may have to get into an alliance for this. |

The fact that everyone has found a way around the standings requirement is the very reason it's a bad mechanic. It's obsolete and it's actually a barrier to newer players (who don't know about Estel Arador) going into low and nullsec because they have to risk their best implants. |

shouldn't talking to people and learning about the game, its mechanics and possible loss be central to any game? after they lose their pod, their first ship, they should be talking in local finding out what it is they did wrong, especially if its not the same local they died in, though some lowsec people are very nice about it. Jump clones are a reward for mission grinding they prove you have done service to a npc corporation (or found someone with a rorqual) and should therefore reasonably understand teh mechanics
Estel Arador made it free but the people that use his service, presumably, know what they are doing. Rather then asking for things to be easier then they already are, you should be counseling those you see cry in local on how to avoid repeating the same mistakes.
While i do not agree that everything should be the harsh RvR table that others seem to revere, I feel that things that make people talk to each other are better for a MMOG. and is corp jumping for clones that much of an issue? I'm sure your ceo/director will understand, if not they you should look for a better corp.
There is a certain amount of "learn the damn game" in this. dumbing down the easy things doesn't make the game better just dumber. |

I realty like the 12 hour cool down over 24 hour cool down. A ,LP Store paid jump clone reset would be nice. |

Nobody in this thread said that missions were too hard. We simply think the standings requirement is flawed and Estel renders it pointless anyway.
Why are you for keeping completely unnecessary things in the game? What does the standings requirement accomplish? Support showing T2 and faction frequency crystal damage in the info window! |

Jumpclone uses: * Increased mobility (eliminates 1 trip worth of time). * Can die without the risk of losing implants.
Drawbacks of jumpclones * Needs new implants, if you don't have implants(pvp clone), then you will lose training time. * 24 hour wait for next jump. * Limited amount of jump clones.
Argument for change of standing requirement: * The current standing requirement forces newbies, carebears and casual gamers to use extreme amount of effort to just get a jump clone for a single corporation. It could be considered a non-option for some players. * Comparing the effort needed to reach the standing requirement compared to get a jump clone from a human corporation offer or a rorqual is inconsistent. If there are much easier ways to get a jump clone what is the point in having a very difficult standing system which noone will use... * Newbies, carebears and casual gamers might be more inclined to try pvp once it is only their ship that is on the line, even though they lose training time.
Argument for keeping the current standing requirement: * It would be too easy... (the typical fear motivated argument that the change will dumb down the game or make it "too" easy). * The instant jump would diminish the feeling of the huge world that is Eve.
