*sigh* If goonswarm somehow managed to rig the election so much that Mittani ended up with 6k votes over the next ******* person, then they all deserve big ******* medals. Don't be ******* stupid. |

If people under 30 days can't vote, does that mean the age tally is 30-250, 250-500 etc? (I did not really take into consideration that you need to be over 30 days to vote) If that is the case, the numbers make a lot more sense. |

How dare The Mittani forge personal relationships with people. The horror...

I dont vote IRL or for game politics. Why? because the choice is ALWAYS between a giant dousch or a turd sandwich! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvmSU6yRWeo I recall one night in a nightclub called the matrix, there I was... Mother of god there I am! Holy f**k. |

Nybbas wrote:I could not help but notice the incredible number of individuals who must have been so interested in EVE's political system, that they were driven to sign up for accounts just to vote for our CSM's. The smallest age bracket, the 0-30 day-ers was only around 40 votes out of being the largest group to vote this year, the number 1 bracket being the 30-250 day-ers ( http://community.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=28529 ). Is CCP really ok with groups that have enough money, just buying 30 day accounts to rig these elections? Would it not make more sense to have a 6 month to year old character requirement (with no breaks in your subscription during that time leading up to the election) to at the very least cause the people who do this to REALLY have to pay out the ass to do it?
You think they care? And plenty of entities in game have enough Plex to buy any vote.
CSM has, and always will be a sham. And since this is about a game that encourages all the worst behavior, I'm surprised that you would expect things to go any other direction.
Being able to purchase/run accounts with ingame currency encourages exactly this type of behavior.
No doubt the vote was bought with Plex, but the bigger question is, who cares? It's a game, being King of it is kind of like being King of Iceland. It's colder than Hell, you have no money, you spend most of your time drunk, no one really likes you much, and the only people that come visit are other Geeks....

I really hope a huge number of Eve players continue to believe this.

Why? Think of normal MMO behavior - players join, try it and leave. You would expect a large slice of the population to be in the initial period of trying the game, subscribing for a few months, etc. The numbers peter off towards those who have played for a long a time. But the game is growing in popularity, so you would expect the lower age brackets to be fuller than the older ones.
Don't know. It seems pretty normal to me. Of course, if you want to see conspiracy theories then go ahead. It's fun seeing how many tears / conspiracies the CSM can generate. I can only imagine how much fun it must be to be a Rotschild and hear all those stories about the reptillian shapeshifters. Or, to pull an example from America, a Republican and hearing how many moonbats bark at you. Or ... you get the picture |
