But at least they don't buy into the whole distribution system that requires ongoing bought in store updates to maintain retail volume.

The next week was usually pretty rough too with random, various dropouts. CCP has come a LOOOOONNNNNGGGG way in terms of patch/update stability and communication with the player base. Frustrated as people are getting, CCP is doin a really good job. --------- War isn't the answer. However, the objective isn't to provide answers rather than eliminate the question.

OneofSix	Posted - 2008.09.02 22:38:00 - [44] Seriously the patches lately is nothing to complain about. Some run a bit over time, a few times server has been up before the advertised time. The worst patch was when the server was down around 2 days, but that was a few years ago. In 2006 there were long stretches of instability where the server crashed at least once a day. Currently the server is more stable than its ever been.

Every three months, they take EVE down for a full week to do a complete database reset. On uptime after the reset, everyone starts again from scratch. I didn't think your troll was particularly good, but you seemed to have caught Chribba in it, so I am forced to give it a minimum rating of 5/10. You would have made more points if you asked if CCP refunds for downtimes, and that you were going to quit if they don't. I may have even given a 10/10 score if you added a suggestion about skill training queues at the end of your post. -Grid
Strom Kryos Gallente	Posted - 2008.09.03 00:06:00 - [47] Way back in the old days .. when we had to push our bs' out the airlock both ways, I recall tales of an extensive downtime beyond horrible proportions. As a result the skill being trained was finished to the lvl it was being trained at, creating a time honored tradition of always putting the longest lvl 5 skill you had to train in training before patch. Personally I'm thankful it's free.. and people complain so much about the game and it's free? How many mmos where you deal with lag and such.. only to have to pay for the next content upgrade.
