Check for updates. Working fine for me.
Hate to seem clueless, but where do I check for updates?
Edit: found it. Fyi for anyone else, its right-click the top of the window. -

Or you can left-click the "note" icon. The easiest thing is probably to use the built-in update though, since it shows the changelog and stuff... EW Guide - Music Downloader - My Music |

Thought I'd update what I have been working on... The good: * All HTTP requests done in background. That means when you do your initial search the GUI does not freeze up anymore. * Ability to double-click songs to download them instantly. * Storing the last used save location in the registry (anyone against it?) * Completely automatic update with a separate dialog, which updates the program instantly on startup. * Faster login by getting a login cookie from a master server. This means that even if something happens to one account that is being used for the search it will automatically switch over and the app will not break.
The bad: I have added a 120px banner on top of the search box. This is mainly to pay for the hosting costs. The banner is dynamic and I can push new banners there. I promise that there will never be anything that is not safe for work. The ads will be music related. Anyone who donated can contact me and we can arrange with you for a banner-free version, provided you do not spread it around. If the banner brings nothing, then I will remove it in a future version.
This version update will go live just after easter. Much of the functionality is already implemented, but not all and I have a lot to test since I do not want to break the program. EW Guide - Music Downloader - My Music |

Just wanted to say thanks again for this program, I was lucky enough to happened to be browsing OOPE when you first released it and I've been using it for almost 2 years now. Awesome program.
I just have one question about using it on my university's network. I've read through the entire thread and somewhat understand how it works. I'm just curious if you think its possible my university would have a problem with me using this tool. I regularly use a firefox addon to download youtube videos to my PC and I'm wondering really, if its much different from that. _________________

I think he's trying to leave as little trace of the program on the system as possible. I am even, to be honest, against registry entries. I am perfectly fine navigating a few directories to my save location every time I open the program. _________________

It is not any different. It uses also HTTP and port 80 to download everything. If anyone would be monitoring your traffic it would look just like a web browser. The program basically IS a web browser. A targeted one, but a web browser regardless.

I had to bite my lip and do registry. I don't know whether appdata is better or not, it's the same to me. Basically this program is going to go a bit more mainstream soon. This is why I also need to make some stuff more mainstream/easy, such as saving stuff to the registry etc. ------------------------------------
Anyway... I made version 1.6.1
Changelog: * Added automatic update * Separated GUI thread, no more lockups when searching * Help is displayed on first run * Changelog is displayed after an update is installed * Last used folder is stored in the registry * Different login
Link in OP. In the future updates will be pushed automatically.
There is also readiness to serve banners, rotate accounts and much, much more. Most of it is disabled right now. The registry key it uses is "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Music Search".
A few corner cases are not handled right now, which could occur if you fail to connect to one or the other thing. I will solve it later. For now, it is most important that as many users update as possible, so I get some test feedback. Don't get me wrong, the program is fully functional, I just need to see if any bugs slipped in.
The old version still works for now though... but if anything changes, you will have to update. EW Guide - Music Downloader - My Music |

Works just fine here. As long as you can make outbound connections on port 80, it should work.
There was a small interruption yesterday due to someone trying to be smart, but that won't happen again :) EW Guide - Music Downloader - My Music |

Got some reports from other people with the same error message. Try port 80 connections to http://login.vk.com and http://gm.mainframe.no Also, make sure you have 1.6.2... not any older version. EW Guide - Music Downloader - My Music |

1.5.3 or whatever you were using does not do that. It just downloads a zip file.
1.6.2 has full autoupdate, where it replaces old .exe in-place. EW Guide - Music Downloader - My Music |

I've now been using this program for years and again I'd just like to say thanks Ryysa for such an awesomely simple and useful program, I recommend it to all my friends and use it on a daily basis. Also I love how you continue to stay on top of updating and keeping it working. Anytime I have a problem I come to this thread and you've already found it and sorted it. _________________

Yeah, this program is very nice to have.
The only thing i want now is this program ported to Android. If that happens, my X10 would be a nice music phone hehe.

I'm still using your program and all is well so I thought it was time for a friendly bump.
Also, if you accept ISK donations...what character would you like a few million sent to?

Long time I haven't posted anything, but here we go...
Originally by: Blane Xero Nice new name for the new update. Anything other than a name change we should know about?
A multitude of things really. This project has taken a huge amount of time over the years and I would like to get something back from it. So the name change actually makes it a "product" and the addition of the small banner makes it possible to get some $$$ to at least cover the server costs. This also means that it has got better hosting now. Faster... There are a bunch of other things, but the main idea is about selling ad space.

I don't really play EvE anymore. So I don't have much to do with ISK. But you can always send it to "Ryysa". ---
Since the program has it's own website at http://mulve.com now, I believe that this thread has lived it's life, as you can just post comments on the website. Thanks to those who supported me and tested the countless versions over the years. EW Guide - Music Downloader - My Music |
