EVE starts, the splash screen loads and then disappears whilst still running in processes but will not go into the log in screen it just stays at windows desktop with the process running in the background.
I have tried deleting the cache files AND re installing EVE but it still will not load properly.
Any help here would be great.

This happened before the update randomly after my computer was having a few problems which have been fixed.
I made sure i deleted the CCP file in program files and rebooted before i re-installed and it still wont work. This was an older version so i will try downloading the latest client and post results.

Have downloaded the latest client and installed after a complete removal of all EVE files. Still doesn't work, runs splash screen which then disappears and runs in processes but nothing more :(

Getting this on vista, it sits in task manager with 49.9mb of ram used and no game window. Trying this with Eve classic

Same. splash then the game doesnt start. it started to happen after i lost conection.

found a fix!!!
for Vista
goto : username>appdata>local>CCP>EVE.c_progrma_files_ccp_eve_tranquility
rename cache and settings folder
the game will make new ones

This did not work for me.
Also tried removing the two folder and still no go.

I had the same problem, but all you have to do is run as administrator. You might as well make this the first thing you try whenever you have game problems in Vista. |

Same problem here, but on XP. Classic content. Was working before I installed the patch -- afterwards, splash screen disappears but nothing more happens.
I'm sure I don't need to explain how bad this is!

Try changing desktop resolution then start EVE.

my game was working fine until last night.
i simply exited the game. thats all i didnt have any updates or anything. this morning i came back to my laptop to play and i had the same problem that you all have with the splash screen and nothing else...except i can still hear the background music of the logon screen and can type in my password hit enter and login! but i still cant see anything but my desktop background so it doesnt really help at all...
someone please help meeee

Same problem here, on vista, game crashed then the next time everytime I cant pass beyond the splash screen, tried to uninstall everything also deleted all ccp hidden folder, reistalled from fresh download but still nothing! please help!!

Same problem here, EVE loads the splash screen, then disappears and sits in processes. I've uninstalled, cleared cache, everything.
Update: Switching resolutions to 1440x900, and the opening screen shows up! Apparently the game is trying to start in windowed mode, but the window is too large to fit on the desktop at that resolution, so I cannot get to the login box. Switching back to 1680x1050, the problem returns.

I've been having the exact same problem. In my case though, I can uninstall/reinstall eve, and the game will load exactly once. After that first load up however, it won't run again. Same problem as others are having, loads the splash screen, and then just sits and runs in the background.
Playing on a laptop with vista.

unfortunately i had to format my comp anyway which fixed the problem :( only way i know of at them moment. Removing all cached files/removing EVE didn't seem to work.
