We need to have a very solid skill reimbursement plan set in stone. Most likely, we would take care of the Destroyer and Battlecruiser skill refund in one move to be done with it and avoid the same inconvenience twice for our playerbase.
[/list]. If you have Destroyer 5 and BC 5 now, will you have all the destroyer/BC racials to 5 after the change? I can't imagine people want to do extra training just to re-achieve a level they're already at. Yarrblblbgrlblbgrlblblblbblbgrlblblbgrblblyarrrrdrooooooolonthekeyboardlikealunatic This question has already been answered many times, please refer to the dev blog comments.
Actually, the question wan't properly answered - personally, I don't mind if you just flatly reimburse all 4 BC skills to V with or without racial cruiser III bacause I have BC V and all races cruisers on V on all relevant characters.
As a matter of fact, however, I will end up with 6 million additional SP either way unless you decrease the skills ranks, which increases my jumpclone costs for no benefit at all. You know... morons. |

Dude, they've answered it a thousand different ways. I literally do not know how more explicit they can get on the subject of being able to fly something tomorrow that you can fly today. -Liang
You're missing the entire point.
A thousand different answers are no answer at all.
And I don't want to be able to fly any ship I could sit in today at the cost of bloating my clone with 6 mill more SP with CCPs punishing clone cost policiies for loyal customers.
As a matter of fact, both of my PvP oriented characters would be perfect Drake pilots
- I trained all passive shield tanking skills to V for the Curse, which came in convenient when I switched to Winmatar.
- Trained all V missile skills for Khanid ships, Stealthbombers and some Minmatar fittings.
- Trained BC V (I used to fly Harbingers pre AC-boost and pre-nerf Myrms, then it was for the Cane).
- Trained Destroyers V for the Thrasher.
- Got Caldari ship skils solely for Guristas and Sansha ships.
Yet I've never flown a Caldari BC.
Considering Destroyers, I've never flown anything but a Thrasher (except a salvaging Catalyst and some throwaway dictors), so that will be 1.5 mill useless SP added for ships I could fly but never do.
Considering BCs, I'll get 4.5 mill additional SP for some ships I can perfectly fly skill-wise, but never do - (I hate Drakes and post-bandwidth Myrms are a joke).
So all that does is giving me 6 million SP and I can fly what i used to be able to fly (but don't want to fly - ever), increasing my clone costs for absolutely no benefit. You know... morons. |

I'll jump from 20 to 30 mill isk/clone - sure - it's affordable - yet annyoing to have to pay 50% more for no benefit each time I take the fast route home. You know... morons. |

Yes, they will be: "New destroyer and battlecruiser skills would be same rank than existing ones"
Actually halfing their ranks and reimbursing the current SP was what I suggested a while back.
It would allow people like me to spec according to my needs whilst not completely screwing over people starting after a date where they can't spec all cruisers to III and BC Vin case they want max SP.
Yes - destroyers and BCs would be quick to train, but so what? Canes and Drakes are the new rifters anyway - I don't mind some people with poor support skills being able to fly them at V within a few days. You know... morons. |
