Its a very fast car I am having problems keeping it from overheating and blowing all the rad pipes atm. Ive sussed part of the problem to be very old shite/damaged rubber pipes, so tomorrow morning they are getting replaced.
Going to fill the system up with a proper mix of water/coolant to try and raise the boiling point, and itll be getting a new race spec double core rad in the very near future.
I seem to have lucked out on this one, i belive its a type RA spec, so i get 2 oil coolers \o/ Unfortunatly the intercooler on this is a joke, its the size of a shoebox and is sat behind the rad, so its doing **** all for intake temps
But i love it, just needs some tlc. Oh and in the wet it likes to swing its arse about more then a pole dancer in wildacts stripclub

Edited by: Reven Cordelle on 08/09/2008 10:10:49 Pff. Japanese four pots...
Saw a rocker cover for one of these things. First question was "why is it so small?"
Second question was "wheres the other one?"
Faithful to the V8, she drinks fuel but it sounds heavenly which imo is worth the money.
That and, as most people know - Theres no replacement for displacement.
Torque mother****er, do you speak it?

4 pot, rocker cover ?? WTF
anyways just caught sight of this thread so i might be a little late with the advise but before you start hoofing about in it get it to a specialist and have it compression checked also you mentioned that its overheated a couple of times that is seriously not good for your water seals again get the thing checked out. Do not stick a high pressure cap on it as you will end up splitting your ast and cause more harm than good, definetly get hold of an aftermarket water temp guage as the stock 1 is a piece of shit and wont start moving till your already dangerously hot
I had mine 2 months before i ended up forking out 5.5k for a rebuild and new turbos, that said, and after shelling out another 3k i have a car that will eat 911's for breakfast round a track.
check out the mazda rotary club forums excellent site and plenty helpfull

My bad. Tbh i'm not that wise to anything with less than 8 cylinders.
It was a rocker cover for some 4 cylinder thing either way.
What is that car anyway? The black thing... that you swapped for.

Always thought it was Hairdressers and Homosexuals that drove Mazdas :p
You know, the same people that think a Porsche Boxter is actually a good car? Har har.
I digress, V8s may not be the fastest top end, but safe to say they'll last a damn sight longer than a small engine doing the same work.
Plus there was a reason the Ford Falcon XB in Mad Max had a stonking great V8 in it...
V8's are bad-ass, and no other engine can pull off the "out of hood" Roots Supercharger and Cherry Bomb Exhausts.
I stay devout to the cars of the 1960s / 1970s, they were made out of real materials, designed to kill the person driving them, had a massive engine that could shake the sidewalk and had more sex appeal than anything at the time.
I'd sell both ********* for a mint condition Hemi 'Cuda. (and a climate controlled garage to keep her in)
They werent fast, they werent aerodynamic, hell.. they barely turned corners. But they looked amazing, had personality everywhere, and have a legacy that lives on to this day.
I just don't get the over-curvacious 4 pot buzz-cars that are stupidly fast, made out of carbon fibre and are tuned to the nuts...
Traction Control, ABS, Low Profile Tyres... all that shit that helps you stay on the bends... Its too sheltered! Too safe!
That much speed potential in a 55kph speed limit too? Thats just frustrating. I like to pimp along, barely doing the speed limit... enjoying the fact that every trip I make, my "carbon footprint" gets big enough to smother Russia's mainland.

Yeah its got no cams, valves, pistons, conrods etc, actually it shares almost nothing witha conventional engine. But my god is she fast The only real downside im seeing atm is they get VERY hot, and mazda didnt design the cooling system very well, so im fixing that these next few weeks.
I personally think the engine doesnt sound like a hoover, its more like an anrgy wasp using a sewing machine
Oh its not a overhelped machine, mines has no traction control, no stability control, its has ABS that doesnt work, (but i dont like ABS so its staying like this) and in the wet its very happy to try and kill you, but i love it <3
Speed limits over here go upto 96kph on normal roads, 112kph on motorways. Mine is regularly taken over that, i dont buy my cars to pootle around in, i like to drive them fast

Oh i get it. See I don't know what car that is...
Now you say it has nothing to do with a normal engine, I can assume its an Rx-7 or something considering all the mazda rotary talk.
Thought it was a Supra at first...
I think I need to get up to date with what all them youngins' be driving.
