Track your pilot(s) training status and basic stats while on-the-go with your iPhone.
Find out more.
Or, just get EVE Tracker (iTunes link) now. It's free!
Cheers.

I know, it blows. Good news it is saved once you get it in there correctly. :-/
Two things on the horizon may help. First, is copy/paste that Apple is working on for an upcoming release of the iPhone OS. Second, I'm toying with the notion of creating my own instance of safari so users could just login to the api page, the app could scan for the api key and pre-populate it for them. Rather than entering it manually. Not sure I can even do that yet, but maybe.
Cheers.

Fantastic App!
I really like the ability to drill down into your character's skills. One bug I've found so far though: On the skill listing (when viewing your character's skills), the bottom item on the list is always hidden underneath the pilot/skill selection pane. Sometimes it's a skill category (usually Science), and sometimes it's a skill (the next level below the skill category listing under your pilot's skills).
One request: Alphabetize the skill category listings. At the moment, their order doesn't make much sense.
Thank you for making this app. It's very, very convenient.

Yeah I can't get it to go, but thats probably due to a api key type.
Suggestion: Is it possible (And it possibly isnt with the iphone cocoa widget set) to use a font for the API entry box that better distinguishes between I's and L's ?
Also on the subject of all things apple. CCP please make the mac client suck less tia. window mode would rock.(Just had to throw that in!) ______ Unrepentant Southern Federation Cheerleader.

The skill list bug has been fixed in release 1.1. In release 1.0 there were some cases where it would initialyl render buggered as you describe and then clean itself up. But not all cases.
I agree the order doesn't make much sense, good suggestion, thank you.

Hi Jane,
Yes, there are a small set of fonts available in Cocoa Touch. I've been trying many of them actually. Would prefer a Monaco, but don't have it. Georgia is about as good as I can get it seems. :-/
Thanks for the feedback.
Cheers.

The 1.1 release isn't available on the iTunes App Store yet. I assume that it has been submitted but hasn't been pushed through by Apple yet.

Thanks to all on the dev team for making this one. Great to see some Mac/Apple development out there.

The mac client can be used in a windowed mode, just press cmd+enter and choose a smaller resolution than your desktop. The problem I have with it is the graphic memoryleaks... I love the smell of pewpew in the morning... |

I have this problem on 2G ipod touch too. I entered my API key several times, and am pretty sure that it was correct. When trying to load pilots it just sits there and nothing happens.

It's been around a week on average. But Apple is kinda changing the rules for "updates". Applying some kinda precedence based on severity of bug fixes, etc, etc. Could be any day now. Sorry I can't be more precise.

Well, as far as I know it should work on iPod touch. And yes, it should update through the wifi. The only difference in the code is that timeouts are set differently depending on your connectivity status. Unfortunately, I do not have iPod touch device to test with. Apple released the 2.1 firmware a little differently between the iPod and iPhone. Perhaps that has something to do with it.
Please contact support and we will try to assist you.
Thanks.

Edited by: Cyleus Taestar on 20/09/2008 23:48:46 Ok first off. THANK YOU!! I've been waiting for something like this for a long time. EViE takes too long to load in Safari. A few bugs/requests:
1. So, like many here, I had issues entering the API Key. I know you've got a fix for this coming up so I won't dwell but I do want to bring something up. After I got my API Key entered and tapped on the Pilot List, it came up with my toons. I tapped on my toon and it checked it. So... now what? There's no done or next button. So I see the pilot list on the top left... maybe I should go there. Takes me back to enter my API key and not only that but it wiped out my entry!! So 3 tries later, I get it right and get the Character list. I tap it, checks again... This time I hit refresh button on the top right, my toon turns blue. Ahhh, that's it. Still no next button so I hold my breath and click the pilot list button and it works. Could you put a Done button on that final screen? The checked and highlighted character states are confusing too. Should be one or the other.
2. On the main screen, the training bar is inaccurate. I'm 90% done training my level 5 skill but the progress bar looks a little more than halfway done.
3. There's no countdown to skill completed?
4. When you go to the pilot's skill tree and you select a particular skill, it does not take into account partially trained skills. Even for the full training time, it doesn't seem to take implants into account. For example, I'm almost done (4 days short) training a particular skill to level 5 and it took me 40 days to do so. However, it's telling me 58 days to train that skill.
5. On this same note, could you highlight partially trained skills in yellow like EVE does in game?
6. Unknown skills also don't show up in the pilot's skill tree. It would be nice to have a setting to show all skills with colors representing those trainable, not trainable, trained and partially trained.
7. On all skill trees, pre-reqs and skill ranks are missing. Good info to have.
8. Could we have commas in the balance and skillpoints? It's hard to read without commas. (Maybe this is the locale number formatting?)
9. For the character portrait issue that has been brought up, would it be possible to be able to select a picture in the phone library? Safari on the iPhone allows you to save pictures on the internet by holding down your finger on the image. It'll then ask you to save. Then, it would be trivial to import it into the app.
I know its a long list and I don't know how much of this got fixed in the next version but I'm putting it down on paper just in case. Thanks again for your hard work on this.

Please add single screen, which shows when skills are finished for each character.
Eg:
Char 1 Day dd/mm/yy 00:00:00
Char 2 Day dd/mm/yy 00:00:00
Char 3 Day dd/mm/yy 00:00:00
Chars could be in time order. Screen could include a counter too, but main point is to see next skill change quickly.
