I just detest suicide. I had a friend blow his head off with a 7mm magnum cause some girl wouldn't be his. Lost a couple more friends cause a gay guy like Mittani convinced them to committ suicide to cover up that he talked them into gay sex. All kind of friends drink and drug themselves to death another friend waled out in front of a train after complaining for months that her medication couldn't be afforded. Then their was the guy that drowned himself in near beer.
I'm sure a lot of people have had similar experiences. Maybe some it makes angry. I know it pisses me off when they die like that. A lot of them were like Mittani, a lot were the salt of the Earth. You would think that the world would be a better place without Mittanis but we need this cause it can actually bring out the best in us. We can see it for what it is and maybe see a bit of it in ourselves. If were lucky we can change. Maybe Mittens can't . He looks like he's sicker than before. His disease marches on. Perhaps we should root gfor him to die. Eve would certainly be a better place but I won't be doing that cause I know to live would be more pain.
So Mittens, i wish you long life. |

I'm going with assisted suicide. Kevorkian spent jail time but only after he was brash enough to push the button himself. That is not to say he wasn't tried over and over again. He blustered about his invulnerability also. Justice was finally served. The bad publicity lasted decade
It is definitely interesting to study the case law in different states or nations. The lower courts always find it appalling and convict pretty easily depending on locale. It seems to be a law that needs to be clarified before the arrests stop. It would seem be natural to mans and courts common law that someone help or not encourage someone to do this
Now if a region, over a course of time, develops laws allowing it, only then do the people accede their need to intervene and rescue. Some laws are well defined only allowing a doctor to do this, some allow counselors. Places like Iceland don't seem to have any laws and seem kind of backwards about tit. Perhaps it goes on, maybe its an old custom to dump depressives into the ocean during the long nites and they just don't talk about it. Then their are the laws of the depressed persons locale and can tele-kevorkian (c) methods be allowed or more likely, are they specifically tolerated
Jurisdiction will play a part. It would seem our Goonievorkian (c) needs asylum to protect himself from extradition to some backwater swamp or mountaintop somewhere in the world where his brashness and disregard for human life will not found to be so amusing
And then there is the issue of CCP's liablity. I'm reminded of a recent local case. It seems a prominent football coach had "looked the other way" It did not work out well once the press got a hold of it. People in the leadership positions were stripped of positions pride and standings in the community because they were leaders that ignored egregious behavior. The reverberations are still being felt with witch hunts. I had coffee yesterday with a woman that must now sue her state employer. After her boss and wife were busted for selling dope, she was let go because it was shown she was aware and because she never turned them in she was fired
If there are no laws specifically allowing flagrantly bad behaviors and such these consequences could happen in this instance also. CCP must look to the legal problems this presents to it but also to the marketing hurdles that could grow out of ignoring this behavior. Look after their own positions and Even Iceland's "BRAND" image
Think well CCP, Only a proactive move at this point can protect you. |

This COULD be a huge issue for CCP. There are US congress people looking for any reason to shut down or regulate the video game industry. Things like this just add fuel to their fire.
You do understand that the USA could simply ban CCP from selling EVE in America correct? You do understand that is something that is not out of the realm of possiblilities if one of these anti-video game people pick this up and run with it. Cyber - Bulling is a huge issue here in the states. I disagree as I think bullying is just human nature but that is not the point.
I think you idiots need to understand how much of an issue this could really be. This is much more then some simple comment made by an idiot. This could be the issue that starts the ball rolling for the anit video game people.
I do not think it will get that big but that is the issue here. Not so much how stupid the comment was, or how wrong it is to try and push someone over the edge and kill themselves but the fact that this is the kind of ammo these anti video game people are waiting for.
What would you idiot goons do if the USA ban's EVE in the USA? How much crying would there be?
This is the worst case but it could happen and their are people waiting for just these kind of things to happen, so they can grab and run around saying "I told you so, I told you video games are evil." I'm pretty sure the US government has more important things on its mind right now than video games, I hear theres an upcoming election they all seemed to be focused on right now. And the conservative side needs some votes and these are the churchy people. In fact if we could ask them if they were connected with it only one would say its ok. This would be a great election issue. |

The WIS is a Mittani ALt He even got the WIS hat at the panel in full view. The social media is unrolling exactly like the last leaked email scam that provoked the riots. MO is exactly the same, Just the names have been changed. |

Go Mittens! May many other excellent career moves decloak in your path (I was wondering why you no longer work as a lawyer - I wonder no more... ;)
Cheers
