Right or wrong Mittani is gone. Its already hitting the media and with cyber bullying being as much of a hot button topic as it is, any company in their right mind would distance themselves as much as possible from something like this. He's gotsta go. All there is to it. |

but this is shaping up to be a witch hunt, and I would bet that a good deal of those instigating it don't really give a damn about this guy who is threatening suicide as a means of guilt tripping as much as they give a damn about dethroning Mittani and/or getting the goons banned.
Besides, if CCP boots Mittani, just how many players are going to leave with him?
The five percent that cause ninety nine percent of the problems.

I would be surprised if he isn't gone in 24 hours. Business is business. As a company you do NOT want your company name showing up in the media associated with something like this. When the inquiries start coming in the good answer is "The player has been banned and is no longer on the player representation board." The media can hurt a company big time if you don't play them right. Just how it is =/ |

If its over a goddamn video game then you shouldn't have been let out of your padded cell to play it in the first place.
So goons don't have sympathy? I'll spread the word! :-) |

I personally saw nothing wrong with The Mittani's conduct at CSM. I think people are jealous that such a hated man can have so much fun. Obviously he isn't that bad of a guy if 10K+ people voted for him.
You need to stop being so butthurt about this. It makes you look like an idiot
The man was in Iceland...Getting drunk and talking about internet spaceships. I would be stoked out of my mind If I had to come to terms with those facts for myself. His behavior shouldn't be a discussion as we all display a form of ass-hattery when liquor is involved. Get over it? Yeah so what he is CSM... Id like to think my representatives have a little character.
Getting a mentally unstable person to commit suicide over a game?...... Where do I sign up?!!!?
Such faggotry and weakness should not be allowed to exist in this world. THIS IS SPARTA!!
....or Eve Online. I forget sometimes...
The man has spent YEARS intentionally becoming hated. Of course everyone wants him gone. That's kinda the definition of being hated. :p

Doesn't matter. The spread of news is exponential. Ninety percent, or probably more, of news outlets get their stories from other news outlets. Once its on the radar its only gunna spread. Also, almost no one reads news and thinks " Hmmm, maybe this isn't true."
Sorry, not trying to ruin your day Harlot, this is just how things are. =/ |

You will report out-of-game issues regarding harassment, such as threatening phone calls or correspondence, to your local law enforcement officials or Internet provider. We are not responsible for actions taken by our subscribers that occur outside the jurisdiction of our game servers or web site.
If Mitty would have destroyed that conference room the panel was in CCP would have had to pay to have it fixed. I would say it was in their jurisdiction. It was the eve fanfest, not Mitty's goonfest. |

Yeah, you got me. I missed servers and website. He is still gone though regardless of what any CCP document might say.
In fact I'm gunna go out on a limb here and predict that the video of him saying what he said ends up on national news within 48 hours. Probably less actually. I wonder if its sunk in for him yet just exactly what he's done to himself. I've seen the video, and it looks bad, real bad, and its gunna look even worse once they edit it. |

Because it was seen live? You say it was on live, but where is the vid then? Doesn't anyone have a recording?
There was a link to YouTube earlier in this thread to a video someone captured of the live feed. It has to be down by now and probably removed from YouTube if CCP is doing a good job. If I had a copy of that video though I would be calling all the news outlets seeing what they would offer me for it. What? Buying plexes with the money I made from selling the video of mitty's implosion? Now THAT is how you win Eve! |

Anybody who does that deserves to be ridiculed.
Of course not, I'm not implying that CCP should give him the isk back. They should take actions aganist the Mittani. And no, nobody will threaten with suicide to get the scammer banned, because no scammer is stupid enough to encourage other players to mock them until suicide in front of hundreds of people in the fanfest. Period.

If CCP wanted to feel accountable for their actions they should have pre-screened the alliance presentations. There were no guidelines on them. I can tell you all to go kill yourselves just like you can tell me to go **** myself. It's the game we play in the environment we play it in. If CCP has an issue with it, they should change the rules of the game. Harassment isn't allowed, but much like anything else harassment is subjective.
In closing,
DEAL
WITH
IT
"Haha here is the guys name and how you spell it. You should all go make him try to kill himself."
Please, seriously, explain to me how the interpretation of that is "subjective." |

It's interesting that you're completely fine with people taking The Mittani's comments out of context and using them against him.
Seriously man, go watch the video. Or better yet, wait to see it on the news. |

Wiki: By the late 1980s, thirty of the fifty states had no laws against suicide or suicide attempts but every state had laws declaring it to be felony to aid, advise or encourage another person to commit suicide.felony = prison time "It is legal to discriminate against felons in hiring decisions as well as the decision to rent housing to a person" A great way to totally screw up your life. Anyway, all it takes is a jury. The law doesn't matter if a jury wants you punished. The Wis made that choice of his own doing that he was going to kill himself or was thinking about it. The Mittani had nothing to do with that in the first place. I've had 4 people threatened to kill themselves. Are you saying I'm criminally liable for those idiots actions?
What part of this don't you guys get? If you tell thousands of people to go find him and push him to kill himself then yes, you should be criminally liable. |
