Edited by: Phoenix492 on 06/09/2008 19:45:09 Since having problems with my internet on Monday (damnit Sky internet!) I can no longer connect to Tranq (saysi its not online), although it works on my other computer which is wireless, and i have the internet (obivously) on this one.
I've disabled my firewall, rebooted the router, everything. My internet is running fine, just not for Eve. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe changing the port that Eve runs from?

Not sure where you are, but right now I am dropping from eve frequently and then showing it offline.
Running a 'pathping' from a DOS window shows 100% packet loss after about 4 jumps. I'm usung Virgin Media and it's on one of there nodeareathings that it all goes pair shaped.
I can run around the rest of teh net without a problem. Nothing reported on there site however.

This has started happening to me a lot also ive been getting disconnected all day and when i try to reconnect it says the server is offline when it isn't and its not my internet because i can still use the web browser and play other online games but eve says offline. I am also on virgin media would the prob lie with our internet provider or CCP.
The server still says offline after an hour from being disconnected.

Over the past few days my brother has been disconnected regularly from Eve.
Since recently this has started happening to myself also. And now tonight, I can't even access the servers due to it not appearing as 'active'.
What the hell is going one lately? My connection is fine. I'm getting no problems accessing any websites or even other mmo games, yet eve seems to **** up anychance it gets.
Answers would be appreciative, afterall I dont want to pay good money for bullshit.

I share your pain, and I have been looking into my ISP, namely Virgin. And yes, many customers share the same issues of being disconnected every 30mins to one hour or so.
But this issue with eve boggles the mind. It's down even when I can type this message, view this website and surf the web without lag or nothing showing up.
Something has to be wrong. My graphics drivers are more than capable of supporting this game. Afterall I'm running it on the downgraded package without all the bells and whistles. And yet, the server status appears either 'unknown' or it doesn't appear at all.
I'd like a dev response on the matter.

On virgin media, too, and I've had the same problem for most of the evening - random disconnects, then the server showing 'status unknown'. Was also unable to connect to myeve.eve-online.com and ran a tracert - request timed out after hop 7 at lee-bb-a-ae0-0.network.virginmedia.net
Ran tracert again after being able to reconnect, and looks like that router is being bypassed now.

I'm also on Virgin media's excuse for a BB connection and gave up with the Indian call centre who couldnt diagnose anything and who themselves gave up after an hour by blaming it on my router which they wont support. Seem to remember this happened a few months ago as well where VM customers could connect to everywhere except Eve.

This leads me to believe that this could be a fault with the eve server itself and not the crappy virgin ISP, though don't quote me on it.
Afterall, all of us, virgin subscribers got screwed at pretty much the same time.... Suspicious yes.
Though... Could be as my brother said. Its just a Saturday. And this thing happens a lot.
But still... reperations should at least be made for us that get caught in a storm we cannot control.

Well I would lay the blame at VM's feet as trace routes arnt reaching CCP's network and are getting borked within Virgins network before they even reach the London Internets exchange.
I couldnt even get onto this website until I used webcache.blueyonder.co.uk 8080 in proxy settings which routes differently.

Kiss my ass fanboi, anything else works fine under my ISP, only this damned website and the game give me faults, and you idiotic sarcasm doesn't help matters, so either provide a working solution or **** off back to your corner where you belong, your not helping matters in this thread.

i'm haveing the exact same problem but instead of sitting here with my head up my arse moaning how shite ccp are i did a traceroute and guess what the problem is with virgin.
Now someone with such an obviously low iq as yourself who is totally unable to use the brain in his head really shouldnt be using computers if you have no common sense in at all.
Go find your own fix instead of throwing your dolly out of your pram.
and yes the rest of the nets fine its just eve and eve-o that VIRGIN are having problems with.

Then instead of writing down what you had tried to accomplish to solve the issue you decided to apply some kind of smartarsed comment to a message left by me?
Your a turd plain and simple. You could have done something worthwhile for the community, voiced a solution to the problem, but you didn't. You just decided to prod someone else to make a crap point on how great your ego is compared to anyone elses.
Well **** yourself. I can understand the info you've provided. And at least its something now that youve finally decided to elaborate on the subject. But the botton line is, your a *****, and i've nothing more to say to you on the matter. Who the hell wants to speak to a ****head afterall?
I dont, so i'm not replying to your ego inflating responses.
Which i'll bet my life savings, will follow soon.

Ok flaming each other in a help thread aside...
Is anyone else still having this problem? I ran another few pathping's this morning and still found the same two problems. Prehaps if other people did so we can see if it is the same place the problem is at and prehaps forward that information to Virgin.
Open a DOS window from your start menu and type: pathping 87.237.38.200
copy the results and paste (from about line 3) here.
2 osr02brad-v11.network.virginmedia.net [62.30.241.39] 3 lee-bb-b-ge-110-0.network.virginmedia.net [195.182.178.125] 4 * lee-bb-a-ae0-0.network.virginmedia.net [62.253.187.185] 5 pop-bb-b-as1-0.network.virginmedia.net [62.253.185.238] 6 tele-ic-2-as0-0.network.virginmedia.net [62.253.184.6] 7 linx1.telecityredbus.net [195.66.226.82] 8 * 85.90.226.209 9 531-dist65-02.lon3.telecity.net [217.20.44.222] 10 * * *
I have highlighted the problem areas for me. These come back as the fail poits again and again.

ok, I'm on Sky internet..And its not a connection problem, as my Wifes Crap laptop can connect (pity i can't do anything in eve though..maybe change skill, but that takes a while lol)
So, its just something to do with my computer. It can't be my firewall (As I've switched it off to try and get eve to connect, and nothing :( )
So, i don't know whats going on... Blah. |

Eve has been ok again these part to days, but I have noted it more laggy then usual, but playable. I have recently also had the odd case of massive lag in Vent with pings in excess of 2000. Not sure if that is connected at all.
