I've just upgraded my graphics card from a GeForce 6600 GT to a GeForce 8800GS and have just finished installing the latest video drivers for it. Now when I run EVE, the login screen comes up and completely freezes my whole computer forcing me to reboot manually; Sometimes I at least get to login to character selection before this happens, but it happens everytime I've tried to run EVE.
I'm currently running it on Premium Content, but have also tried Classic Content to no avail
System Specs: AMD 3200+ 2.01ghz 4gb 400mhz ram CSL:2 GeForce 8800GS 384mb ddr3 2x 120gb HDD DirectX 9.0c Windows XP Professional SP3
I've gone through and double checked everything I could think of. Latest windows updates, graphics drivers, sound drivers, reinstalled DirectX, and still have no clue on what is going on.
I've seen quite a few posts regarding this issue but the other posters seem to be able to at least play the game for a bit before it freezes up. I've tried running the LogServer.exe to see if it shows what is happening, but when the computer freezes I have no way to save the workspace to review the logs.
Any and all help would be appreciated!
NOTE: I can still play BF2142, CoD4, STALKER, Dawn of War, GuildWars, and pretty much every other game I own perfectly fine with my current system as it is except for EVE ---------------------------------------------- Ghost Festival - NA Recruiter/Director -Korthan

Just did a full reinstall of EVE and got a program error for the audo.dll so I turned off all the sound when I restarted it and went to login and same thing happened. Complete lockup of game and computer forcing a manual reboot. ---------------------------------------------- Ghost Festival - NA Recruiter/Director -Korthan

Tried to login to EVE today to see if it'd bother to work or not and got this error code/message: AppName: exefile.exe AppVer: 5.11.0.60424 ModName: blue.dll ModVer: 5.11.0.60424 Offset: 000a1abf
This is very similar to the one I got about the ModName: audio.dll however I have no clue what these mean and how to fix them.
Any help from others or CCP staff would be very much appreciated! ---------------------------------------------- Ghost Festival - NA Recruiter/Director -Korthan

I dont know what it is with the ever popular 8 series nvidia card ( mostly the 8800's) and Eve but there are allot of problems and no one has any anwsers on a solution to fix it. I had allot of problems with my old 7800gt and it was only in Eve.
Dont know if you've tried a driver sweeper for the graphics drivers but try that then reinstall them fresh. If that doesnt work a good old clean install of windows never hurt. Other than that I cant really think of anything else. Hope that helps

Sadly enough I have a brand-spanking new install of windows xp sp3 and all new drivers, I double checked the nvidia website 2-3 times to be sure and even got my mobo and monitor drivers up to date
Alas I have no clue what is going on still
Thanks anyways Tiir ---------------------------------------------- Ghost Festival - NA Recruiter/Director -Korthan

Its the graphics card drivers, been having that problem my self, some days it fine other days i cant play for longer than 20 minutes.
Something about the drivers and EVE dont get along, i havent heard good things about attempting to roll back the drivers either, as they are apparently rather fickle.
Hopefully new drivers in the future will solve the issue.
I know this sint the most helpfull comment, but i've been trying to figure out this one for a couple months now (you seem to have it worse tho, i can play for a while before the freezing happens).
Like i said tho you 'might' have some success with rolling the drivers back.
