mission drops should stay the way that they are.
all these people wanting to nerf high sec give me a break, the risk vs reward is invalid, as you can still make more in 0.0, and if you are in the right corp/ alliance / areas you can do it with little risk.
nerfing is never a good solution if anything you should be asking for buffs.

i honestly think a lot of the items us mission runners get are mostly worthy of being reduced. i guess it would be o k as long as i could still get the equivalent in minerals. but lets get real here , like someone stated before if you remove these drops it isnt going to be the holy grail that people think it is.
there are plenty of T1 things in demand that can be manufactured that mission runners cant LOOT,
I personally enjoy looting my missions and don't want that taken away.

ya i agree on that. If you want T1 drops taken out of the game then you should have to "actually do more than click a few buttons to produce massive amounts of product"
the system is fine now with the simplicity of manufacturing.
i will gladly trade my drops for more difficult mass production. -iskopoly |

I agree this is a problem, so this should be fixed as well. Since this is all academic then why not suggest fixing this problem along with the other problems. Instead you're suggesting we should not strive to improve one part of the game because another part needs work too.
There is some validity to that complaint. My own experience suggests to me that trying to redo the ruleset to a game enough to really make all this work is a project that should be considered carefully. There are past precedents for how badly that can turn out.
When it comes to game design, I tend to be a pragmatist. Big changes are almost always impossible to a game in production unless they are done slowly, and one at a time, hoping you don't break anything as you do it. My big issue with EVE is the bad learning curve, the loss based PvP and the general anti-social behavior the game embraces. I think that is a bad idea. Most here might not. But I certainly don't suggest trying to change it too radically at any point. And to me, removing the loot tables is radical and should be done with great care.

good post.
i'd also like to add that it is easy to call for mission nerfs when you don't run them. i'd suggest 99% of the people calling for this don't run missions otherwise they would be singing a diff tune. iskopoly |
