Just finished watching the video clip of the Alliance Panel. It was one minor sentence that The Mittani said under the influence of alcohol. He apologized for it. End of story. This entire issue has been completely been blown out of proportion. I've personally been unable to login to EVE much because I'm currently deployed to Afghanistan, but the news has made its way all the way out here (thank you ****** desert interwebs.)
Anyway, the man had one minor slip up of a mere sentence and has more than paid for it. I personally don't think he should step down from his CSM position but that's only my opinion. As bad as the Goons' perception is, it's still a legit style of gameplay. I might not think highly of it, and neither might most others, but not everyone can be the 'Hero of New Eden'. And if people fall for the trickery and asshatery of the Goons then its that person's fault and no one elses. EVE is meant to be a hard game, grow up or GTFO
To The Mittani, you've put yourself in a seriously high spotlight position. You should know to handle yourself with better tact and profesionalism knowing that many EVE players worldwide are able to watch what you say and do during the fanfest stream and the recorded video thereafter. I understand you're at fanfest having a great time getting drunk with all the other EVE players from around the globe, but still.. One slip up for the world to see, and all this unnecessary drama comes from it. The bigger you are, the harder you fall. Learn from this, adapt, overcome, and good luck running for CSM8 next year
To the miner wiz guy person, sorry for your RL issues, we all have RL issues. I'd give all my assets and my wallet away (not really) just to get to see my wife for a few days while I'm out here. If you have RL issues, leave it at the login screen. EVE is a game, as much as CCP makes it "REAL" it's still a video game. Anyone who takes EVE or any video game too seriously needs to have their head checked or seek some sort of mental or behavioral health service. Everyone loses a ship or suffers a substantial loss every once in a while, yeah it sucks, but you adapt, LEARN from your mistakes, and move on. If you don't learn then its your own fault. |
