Vista can fry in the warmest pits of hell for all I care. When I start getting "out of memory" errors ON BOOT-UP with 4GB DDR3 RAM, sorry, it's time to upgrade to XP and demand a refund of the money I wasted on Vista. (Which I did get, ten weeks later.) Sorry, but Vista sucks. I just hope the real Mojave they're supposedly working on, and not the one they suckered people into trying in their almost laughable TV ads, works better than that steaming pile of crap they just HAVE to slap on every prefab system on the market these days... ---

I have had no problem with vista in the year that I have had my vista.
PEBKAC, people... Look it up.
Trust me, there is nothing wrong with vista besides the fact that people are idiots.

Agreed, just Vista has a lot of annoying features which have to be turned off.
I haven't had a single problem with Vista for the past 10 months since I built my computer.

So because you don't have a problem with your machine I'm an idiot because my machine was blue screening (MS hotfix required) and explorer appears to suck at multi-threading?
thanks for the comment Mr. tech genius now perhaps you can tell me what **** off you ***** means? Go on look it up.

Well the Vista debate is pretty simple.
Vista doesn't add anything that makes it worth the upgrade; and in introduces more problems than it is worth.
IF DirectX 10 had proven to not be a failure, than I would have jumped on the Vista bandwagon as well, but even Microsoft has acknowledged the Vista failings and are quickly coming out with their new OS.
Remember, there were also people who liked Windows ME. _______________ Pwett CEO, Founder, & Executor <Q> QUANT Hegemony

No seriously, I have no clue if a patched Vista is still bad, but I'm pretty convinced it's still bloatware, no matter how much shit you turn off.

I was seriously thinking about XP..
To be honest I'm not bothered about the user interfaces performance it's the multi tasking performance of explorer that bothered me, well, and the blue screens I got with netio.sys, could hardly believe I was seeing a BSOD after years of not getting them.
XP and OS/X's explorer/folder process seem much better than Vista's, what's that all about?
that's because XP only logs bsods and doesn't actually show you the blue screen. it just goes straight to restart. I'm sure your computer has restarted itself before. -----------------------------------

You can turn off the restart on "stop-errors" quite easily in XP. Makes finding out what just blew up much easier.

This
I have a dual boot xp / vista system and vista performs better than XP - haven't been into XP for weeks.
