We've been noticing since the patch that if we scan down an unknown signature and bookmark it, if we return to the BM after downtime the plex has moved. You warp to your BM and there's nothing there. You drop a multi and get an unknown in system, drop a sift and discover the same plex you found before only a few thousand kms away from where it used to be. As far as I can see, this wasn't supposed to happen from the patch notes.
We've had to scan down two separate plexes twice now because our BMs ended up slightly out. Same plexes, same systems, no heavy probing activity that would mean they were run between us finding them and running them and within spitting distance of the original so all in all very unlikely to be co-incidental spawns.
Has anyone else noticed it happening as well? I'm talking about "proper" unknown sigs, not cosmic anomalies.

I've had sites move 100-200km off of my bookmarks during DT over a year ago.

Yeah, happened to me too, twice or thrice. It looked like someone had run the plex but in reality the same plex was sitting a few thousand kms from the original bookmark. Can't really point finger on any of the patches as this happened before and after the empyrean age expansion. ------ Encyclopaedia Exploratica

I've had exploration sites moving to another system at DT... or just move in the same system, it depends. But I think that was before the patch. Maybe their locations get reshuffled at DT, but AFAIK sites stay spawned through DT.

well I can confirm a strange behavior.
I logged a bug for it too.
recently before downtime, i scanned down a plex. turned out to be a nice ded plex. book mark'ed the gate. went and got a throw away frigate to warp inside, see how it looked. Notified my corpmates that I will need help with it. To late for us to run, so we planned on running it the next day. But when I logged on the next day, I warped to the book mark and it was not there. The gate was gone. I dropped a sift at the location, could not get a hit on one sift. So I came back later that day with more quest probes and started looking. Hopping it just moved. There was still an unknown in system as reported by a multi spec probe. I eventually got a hit of accuracy 1.37 au. And what do you know, that was exactly how far that hit was from my original gate book mark from the day before. So I warp to the gate book mark, hoping to see the gate there. But nope it was not. So I try a new sift probe there. On the second scan, I get a 10,000km hit. I scan again. This time get 512 km deviation. So I warp to that. as I land I get the message that found the plex, but it was not visible at that location. Try to warp back to my original book mark and was restricted by natural phenomena. Warp to a planet and back the original book mark. And there is the gate, back to where I scanned it the day before!
Prior to all this I had left and returned to system and verified that the gate was still there. Only after downtime did the gate disappear.
So it appears that downtime somehow effects how a plex gate is returned to the a book marked location.

I think it is something linked to the resetting work done during DT. It is nothing recent. Substantially the explored location reset and respawn only when you war to it. But (here is the catch) it respawn after you warp to your bookmark.
So if you have bookmarked a item in the exploration site it is possible for the warp to misbehave as the target as not jet spawned when you warp to it.
Usually warping to the exploration site, warping away and then returning get you in the right spot as this time the site has already spawned.

Just warp twice to your bookmark. first time nothing, second time your plex is there...

warping twice to the bm did not work for me. I warped several times. It never showed up until i scanned it down to the 512km distance.

yepp they seem to move or bm's are in wrong place even if they are made at the acc gate. after dt you wont land on same grid and load the plex,1000km off or so you need to probe it agen. I se this every time with 5/10 drone plexes because I leave them undone and run into them agen next day :( --------

Hmmm, I've never seen this, and I often run a site 1-2 days later.

Edited by: Space Wanderer on 26/09/2008 19:34:51 That's an old bug, definitely not introduced by the last publish. Does not seem to happen for all sites. It never happened to me with magneto and radar sites. I have not enough experience with ladar and gravimetric to give an opinion. Combat sites may move slightly during DT.
