As for the who stole who's ideas, I was listening to the Witty Ranter podcast on Virginworlds (they did a Warhammer episode), and the general conclusion of the guys there was:
Mythic have achieved what EA wanted them to do, which was to take WOW and make it better. Make the best daiku(sp) style game of the current generation, without doing anything too revolutionary.
Personally I feel that I'd enjoy playing through, and completing the PVE content, but ultimately I'd return to EVE.
It's not going to kill EVE,. That's already been done at least 20 times apparently

Warhammer online does not have spaceship's so instantly scores a big fail on the fail/win scale to me. Its also a clone of Wow and I HATED wow.

Even if what I have heard that Warhammer is a superiour game compared to WoW, very much so when talking about pvp and graphic, it is still yet another fantasy mmorpg. If it was a mmorpg similar to EvE I would have been curious, but it isnŠt.

I think that is the crux, at least it was for me. After having played x-amount of fantasy MMO's, I couldn't bring myself to continue playing AoC for more then 1 week. Instead I started to play EVE, and wondered why I didn't start to play EVE a few years ago.

and i have to say warhammer is a great game and not a wown ripoff wow was a warhammer tabletop spy since they copied almost all of it from warhammer.
and there is so much more to warhammer then there is to wow.
oooh and lol to the lag i bet you have not yet been stuck in eve for 2 hours trying to jump into 1 system where the blob is at so the reduced beta servers are keeping up alot better then eve when the blob is close.
not even 3 weeks ago it took me 2 hours to cross 6 jumps due to a cap battle and local was uner 350 but the capitals **** it all up and are the magical lagbombs of the past.

I am pretty sure Warhammer will go down the toilet too, just as the other newly released online games have done.
There is nothing about Warhammer that is really attractive to me. The only competitor to EVE i could find earlier was in Conan, and we all saw hoe that went. Now, it have aprox. 250k players, and its still going down. PotBS was another fiasco.
No, I think the only future game that will rise to challenge EVE online will be CCPs 2nd onlinegame in developement: World of Darkness.

well so far the sounds i am hearing aren't the bad ones from the warhammer community.
we will soon find out tho a few days left to the headstart and the rest will join them on the 18th for the general launch.
and they already have good plans for whats coming in the future.
and the people who say its a copy have clearly not played in the beta and looked at whats in it all
edit.
and i think you cant really compare eve to warhammer since they are completely diff games.
and the wow crowd is also looking forward at the litch king

Not true, all the folks I play with are huge Warhammer fans and have played every single incarnation of the GW games (board, RP and computer games) to death and we will try it, at least for old times sake
The game itself seems pretty crapstatic though, so I believe in the "Warhammer Online: The next game people will return to Eve from" statement

I played the Warhammer Beta for a bit. It looked a LOT like WoW.
Both games put me to sleep in less than 15 minutes.

so basically, you extrapolated your own meaning from what I said. I wouldn't call that "talking it up pretty good", but whatever.

I have been in the 200 man fights, system ran fine, its specifically designed around that, and it works, but ok, you can try again. I'm willing to bet "people" you know playing are less than 5, and I would be willing to bet of those, less than half have complained about lag. See, if you actually knew anybody, you'd know there's almost constantly a huge fight running at the Keeps right now, so you've proven in one post that you have no clue what your talking about.
"OMG ITS SHARDED!!!" Ok, start listing the games that aren't sharded, that argument on why a game is crap is as worn out as your mother dude, and its pretty pathetic. Instanced, no, I don't know who lied to you, but its very much NOT instanced, try again.
Also, i never said 0 bugs, your adding that in all on your own. Its a beta game, of course it has bugs.
Again, my post, full of facts, your post, full of shit you just made up, or heard rumors of, but have NO actual first hand, or even dependable true secondhand knowledge.

its the best trailer ive ever seen.
Anyhow, I quit WOW half a year ago, just came to EvE now, and have no intention of playing Warhammer online. (I played WOW on and off for around 6 months) .. i was "Freedomm" if anyone recognises me, =) mail me ingame.

I think that means that the Goons discovered that fueling POSes just isn't funny after a while. A game like warhammer, especially when it's new, should have a lot more exploits to, well, exploit for "lulz".
