I'm not sure if this is the correct thread but my character picture on forums and in Evemon is a !
I remember reading something about this being a known problem but I can't find that information again - does anyone know when it will be fixed?

This post, is the reason i love EVE.
I asked this very same question, i believe or it was someone like me, back in 2003 and here we are, another person discovering the game we all fell in love with all those years ago.
I'll answer you in kind as those people of old:
Give it time, 1-3 days, it updates slow.

Yes it is. Newer characters start off as "!"s until their forum avatars get rendered by the CCP renderer machine, but it works in batches and is very temperamental. Not really anything can be done to speed up the process, so just give it some time.

fixed...nothing CCP does takes 1-3 days, unless it involves deleting ur boot.ini file.

You are not the only one dude. Almost four months of being a ! on my main. Ironically my alt had her pic a week after creation.
It's like some sick joke ! Like playing with a turtle on his back ! End my torment please, no more, no more. I can't take any more torture! I told you everything I know ! Oh I got carried away there I think

if CCP would try to prioritize the portrait rendering by whether or not the characters are actually posting on forums and need the images, we might see them rendered much faster than the 3-6 weeks it currently takes...

Take away the risk and it would make flying around in space utterly pointless.
Take away the flying around part and you make EVE into a space themed spreadsheet application. |
