Congratz on making it so far, thats quite a feat. I once tried to get into a band.. we all sucked at our instruments so it didnt last long, but i still break out the electric once in awhile.

Well guys Im not sure what this means, but Lionsgate sent me an email informing me that the song has been accepted into the finals. Then the next day I received another email from them requesting a high quality mix in wav file format.
They sent me a Putfile upload address because the lossless wav file format was almost 40 megs.
Ive looked all over the net and searched a few musician forums where some other bands had also submitted. Apparently it seems so far that no one else has received such an email or request from Lionsgate studios.
Im trying not to get my hopes up too soon but I find this to be very curious.

Whoever posted that it's reminiscent of Soundgarden is pretty accurate, it does sound remarkably similar as far as genre goes.

Id say your in with a really good shot if they are asking for a pure format of the song.
Damn, well done man. Im hoping that email means good things cause it certainly sounds promising. The music is not to my taste but i can recognise its good :) i just kept getting the urge to find the tempo controller and upping it a little hehe.

You guys should win and if not then the producers haven't a clue. People have named bands that you sound like. I hestitated from doing that in my first post. But I will say emulation is where it stops. Your vocal inflection is significantly different from Chris Cornell and Layne Staley. I hear Jerry Cantrell in your guitarist and your drummer is very good (whish the band I was in could find a decent one  ).
Hands down the best of the songs I have listened to on the contest page. One suggestion is that "I think" you should get a description of the band on the songs play page.

ok well ive done something I said I would never do.. I made a myspace.
I feel dirty now. We will start recording again in December, so Ill be adding more songs around that time or maybe mid november. Link to the site Altus Pocket
Also Im working on more artwork, background images and Desktop wallpapers.
The biggest question im having right now is what font to use for the name.

Thanks everyone for the replies and plays, However number of plays has nothing to do with it.
Some bands that had tens of thousands of plays didnt get into the finals. Songs were never judged by number of plays but were judged by a screening team by Lions Gate film studios.
The final Judging Will be done by a panel of just 5 people. The President of Lions gate, The music producer of the film, The Director and a few other Oscar and Grammy winning film/music producers and the lead singer from Seether.
The contest page is over and done with, its meaningless now. Never the less thanks for checking it out.
The bands Myspace is where all the action is happening now ALTUSPOCKET
