Janos	Posted - 2004.06.28 17:16:00 - [1] I would have to agree... Tracking speed changes are ok in my mind but the Tempest 14's were well balanced to begin with... They were great for long range but now with this latest tweak they only work at 30-40km ... Doesnt make sense at all. I almost have maxed gun skills and my corpmates that arent in tempests and not even specializing in combat are making more dammage than I am capable of now. Plus ive been getting excellent shots that range from 80hp of dammage to 650hp of dammage... That doesnt make any sense whatso ever. Once again CCP QA has failed and the players are left with a game thats messed up. What is even more fustrating is that when I first started this game I had my plan of skills well thought ahead... I specialized around the tempest as much as possible and now... well the tempest is now a lack luster performer. I feel bad for the other players out there that went my route and specialized in the Minmatar Battleships. I hope for CCP's sake that some other MMORPG game doesnt come out that mimics EVE. It seems that CCP is using the "can't please them all" reasoning as an excuse for mediocrity.
Janos	Posted - 2004.06.29 03:25:00 - [2] Sorry Marcus I'd have to disagree... Ive had enough time behind the stick of a tempest to know what ranges attack angles and radial velocities work best. I'm not at all impressed with the new patch and heres why...(again) A I've been getting erratic shot characterization 78hp excellent shots and 160hp scratches using phased plasma. Now about the range problem... first off the optimal isnt really the optimal right now... the optimal is really a fine line of your falloff plus your optimal. Then you get great shots stray from that by a few k or so and yer back in Nerf land. The 14's were a perfect gun in every way before and really didnt deserve its nerfing... Here's the reason why... (again) It was terribly powerfull at long range. (A great fleet weapon.) At close range it sucked and this balanced it. Ask any pilot ... "How do you deal with a 14'd tempest?" Go in close plain n simple. A very balanced war ship. I have no problem with the nerfing of the tracking of the 14', 14's have no place in frigate or cruiser combat, however they nerfed the 14' in every aspect and thats just wrong for those of us that focused on it. A Minmatar's Prayer... THIS IS MY TEMPEST. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My TEMPEST is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I master my life.
