I can't get the installer to start on my new PC which OS is Windows Vista 64x. Everytime I try to run the installer, I get a "NSIS error" and I have no idea what that means
Does anybody know what I can do to make EVE run on my PC?

sounds like a corrupt installer - http://nsis.sourceforge.net/Why_do_I_get_NSIS_Error - try downloading it again.

NSIS is indeed a corrupt installer, might be caused by a corrupt download or a faulty hardrive / RAM when trying to open it. I suggest re downloading it and see if that fixes it. _

It's not corrupt its a bug that's been in for the past 2 patches, run every hd check in the book, install the newest nsis, format our hd, dl with as many different browsers & dl managers as you want or (this is the best bit once you've had in once) dig out the once you dled ad burnt to disk 4 months ago, probably the one you've been playing the past 4 months, and i'll spit out the same error despite being unmodified.
All you can do is keep trying, eventually it will work, in my case the 10-15th time but if the client corrupts itself, as it's got a tendency to do, you're back to square one.
There have been afew threads on this the past month, in fact there are ones on here going back to '04, i've reformatted my hd twice in 5 weeks just to get even running again, the second time burning the install that worked to disk right after an it doesn't work any more either.
You can check the ms knowledge base if you want, it suggest running through hd/ios test built into windows (8/9 if i remember right) and they take hours, but ultimately get you nowhere because the problem is not with your pc... -------------------------

Azuse, sounds to me like it's your RAM that's knackered.
If it fails nearly every time no matter where you read it from, it must be the ram, as everything you read from anywhere goes in there.
Alternatively it could be the cpu (which has to process the data to check it), or the motherboard chipset (all data has to go through that to get to the ram/cpu).
I have never had a problem with a corrupt patch in eve.
