I actually got caught doing this today. I was talking to someone about starting a business. I told him that
"It takes money to make money, once you reach a certain point, around 250 thousand I.S.K. you can keep making more and more, rather easily."
To this my friend replied:
"What is I.S.K.?"
To this I replied:
"Did I say I.S.K.? HAHA! nevermind"

I usually just look at them like they are the morons and say "Yah, Isk... money, dinero, moola..." Usually they say something like "Oh, I've never heard of that before." Then shake your head and roll your eyes at them and continue on.

hehe, yeah I've had a similar thing happen.
I borroed ú5 off a friend as the bank was closed and the nearest cash machine was a mile or so away (just wanted a couple of beers - no biggie, right?)
So the next day i go to her and I'm like "Oh here's your 5 isk back" (I say "isk" not Eye Ess Kay). She looks at my hand and then at me and she's like "isk?" and I'm like "oh um... I mean pounds." :D --

You should be careful when making bank payments to your brother(if any) if he plays EVE and you have a habit of jokingly putting "sell orders" on them:
Had the pleasure of visiting a social service and they ask for your bank statements.
There was trouble.
Went to office and the madam behind the desk looked rather distraught as she showed me an underlined statement that said:
"Sheriff Jones bought stuff from xxxx. Missile Launchers and Hardeners."
The explaining was, how to say, lengthy

I quite often find myself referring to real life money as ISK by accident, I also quite often refer to the slightly worse parts of town as low-sec when I am with my brother who also plays EVE. -----
