What is a good way for a guy like myself to get some ISK with out going to gold spammer websites? It does not have to be a quick way but what is a good way?

Well, if you're talking about RMT, you can do it legit by reselling Game Time Codes (GTCs). Shattered Crystal is popular, I use Battleclinic myself. You take the codes and resell them on the timecodes forum using the secure system (there's a guide there), pretty painless really.
If you're talking about in-game.. lv. 4 missions seem to be the agreed and much-debated source of the easiest ISK, though exploration and mining out in 0.0 can be very lucrative as well.

1. Buy item on market at low price
2. Resell item on market at higer price
3. Profit!!
It's called trading and if you have enough capital you can make fair wad of ISK with a small investment of time.

Exploration in high sec and low sec can be very lucrative as well, but unlike mining or GTCs it is chance based. Not only do you have competition, but you have to get lucky. In 1 week of a good luck week in high and low sec I have managed 300 mil flying a BC doing both anomallies and sites. On a bad week I barely paid for probes.
Exploration is alot like treasure hunting, if you dig enough holes you will eventually become very rich. The thing is that you have to dig ALOT of holes.

You can also try beging, scamming, theft, etc (in game actions, not invading someones house or robbing a bank). Unlike other games, this kind of action are allowed in EVE.

begging can make a starting playing a bit of ISK true as well as scamming
but for both you need to have some sort of social engineering skills and persistence

selling game time codes is by far the easiest way to make 400-500 million ISK instantly

Don't even let this thought cross your mind. If CCP finds out about unsanctioned RMT (the only allowable form of this is the purchase and selling of Game Time Codes) they extract the amount from your wallet that you bought. While on the one hand there are few things on this forum more hilarious than someone starting a whine thread about how they bought ISK and then logged in one day to find that CCP reduced their wallet to negative one billion, there's no reason why you should have to go down that route. Remember that with a negative wallet there's nothing you can do to restore it except rat with ammo you already have and beg people for ISK. You can't run missions because you can't post collateral. You can't trade or manufacture because you can't pay any fees. You basically have to create a new character and start over, unless you have rich friends who don't care that you broke one of the cardinal game rules.

get in a nil sec corp, "help" rat, and spend bounties on mods from Jita that you hual up for profit. or haul in minerals, level production Efficiency to 5(like 2days of training) and use corp BPO's to support their pve/p wants and your wallet :)

Invest enough time into R&D agents and you can have a steady backup ISK flow. Simply pick up datacores once a month and ship them off to your favourite trade hub.

Just spent a few months away from game and came back to SO MANY RPs. Gonna be a glut on a certain datacore sometime soon...
