Having been involved in a recent battle in which an armour tanked megthron was attacked, he had a mix praetor and other drones deployed.
The attacking force consisted of 8 frigates 2 cruisers in the 1st instance.
result round 1. lose 1 cruiser 4 frigates.
Then a scorpion joined us and also attacked (mixed battle fleet just as ccp want).
End result loss = 1 bs 1 cruiser all eight frigates last cruiser got away just before dying.
Now you could say that the megathron pilot was brilliant pvp player however he never fired his guns once all the damage was caused by the deployed drones.
Now i have to ask the question are drones to powerful ?

Just as a little rider the bs was warp scrambled x3 sensor dampened x 10 , webified and tracking disrupted the frigates were 8 kestrels. The scorpion was armour tanked.
seems to me most powerful cruiser is now a thorax and any bs without drones isnt worth owning.

So either that guy is ubah at pvp or you guys aren't
The corps is a well known pvp corps most players have 10-12 months playing time. We were checking out the new changes in pvp.

Im not trying to have drones nerfed, however there is something fundamentaly wrong with the game mechanics when 8 drones can take out 8 figates ,2 cruisers and a bs.
Yes the scorpion got in close in order to keep the bs warp scrambled. yes i agree the drones should take out frigates
my figate lasted about 5 seconds we lost 4 in as many seconds .
We knew this when we attacked , I dont think ccp intended 8 drones to take out a fleet.
As has already been stated drones hit 100% of the time at a very fast rate, I believe the changes made in the last patch
have made a serious difference to fighting with drones.
Pre patch we would have lost some of the frigates but not the whole fleet.
I state again we new what we were doing we were trying out tried and tested tactics.

Well guys have now done some eperimenting and have now managed to take down a scorpion using 8 ogres from a thorax.
Used frigates/cruisers to sensor damp and lock and killed it with drones went real quick to.
no more ships used than original post.
so guess all it needed was a change of tactics, expect drones to be used more widly in pvp.
