Second! And that is a first.
I see that the Launcher has not yet been upgraded to handle those "#1" patches that get ninja'd in after the major patches. 284 Characters 284 Characters 284 Characters 284 Characters 284 Characters 284 Characters 284 Characters 284 Characters 284 Characters 284 Characters 284 Characters 284 Characters 284 Characters 284 Characters 284 Characters 284 Characters 284 Characters 284 Characters 284286 |

1: Scourge Missiles, a very welcome return.
2: My overview thanks you for shortening the Stargate names. It looks much neater now.
3: SCOURGE MISSILES. (totally worth mentioning twice) Enjoy your gaming.

Which no longer sort by name A-Z (S)targate (Jita), with the other gates in a group.
The implant renames were a useful change. The rest I don't get. it's just a different category of arbitrary. |

So, what happened to that whole "no more patch/restart loops" feature of the new "launcher?" Cause every time you guys push a patch now, first the launcher updates, then the client starts, then IT updates, then it restarts. Now I just have two things that are getting in the way of playing the game at patch time instead of one. So when is "patching the client" going to mean the client is actually patched? |

Thank you for the stargate name change. For the first time in years I've been able to reduce the size of the overview without losing any vital info. |

Except if you're in PVP and someone with a long / 3 name character warps away or jumps and you're asked who they were, all you'll be able to say is "name started with James" and if as common as that then forget about trying to search for them.
One change I wish they made with stargates/routes is the color of the icon of the gate on your route. Yellow is way too similar to white and I frequently go to the wrong gate. Blue (same color as abandoned wrecks/cargo) would probably be easier to distinguish. Please do this for Crucible 1.7. |

After reading the patchnotes yesterday evening, my first thought was that the stargate-renaming would be totally crap but there was no possibility to comment on this.
If you have sorted the overview by name (like me in the most cases) you have to resort by symbol or switch to another tab to find the stargates easier. Just a few useless seconds in some cases which would cause your death - really sad about this.

Do any of the work-arounds described in this thread: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/EVE_Launcher_Issues_and_Workarounds help?
The most common error currently occurring, by far, is Anti-Virus software, Firewall software, or upstream proxies interfering with the HTTP Range requests that the Launcher makes. Do you have any such software installed? |

I like the new search
But it could be even better
Currently, when you search for something results come in a separate window. Something that would be even better is if the search was moved to it's own tab (Contacts, Agents, Places and Search). Then show the results in this tab
Now, I'll agree that having the search "global" (above tabs) is easier than going to a separate tab, but I think the window that pops up (and can't be stacked) negates any usability-advantage
Secondly, I want to search for more stuff. Right now you need to use the market window to search for items. It works, but is a bit cumbersome when all you want is the stats on an afterburner. So, please, can we have item search too? Yes, I know, items aren't really "People & Places", but you can rename the window.. :
And last, something totally unreleated: Can we have a Location sub-menu in the corp window? So we can right-click a corp member in Member List and get info on the station/system he's in. |

Also on the Scourge subject, nice to see it back in the item name.
Now can you fix it in the Description window so it doesn't still say Trauma, tia ? SASPR Amir al-Mu'minin and Eve Online Hold'Em Management |

Newly created characters are impossible to "find" for the purpose of adding to contacts, making a private contract, etc. It used to be when I created a new character I could immediately find them in search or issue a contract to them; now this is not possible, even after some hours.
The only way I can "find" a new character now is to log into the new character, add my old character as a contact, send notification, and then when I get the notification, click on the new character name and add contact. But even after this, when both characters have each others' names in their contact lists, I still cannot issue a contract to the new character (it either refuses to find the new name and says it doesn't exist; or it tries to issue to some other character with a partial name match, and does not offer any option to assign to the character I want, that I just created). Exiting the client, deleting the EVE cache folder, and restarting the client did not fix this issue.
Speaking of which: How about drag and drop from contacts to the private contract name box; or a drop down in the contracts window that pulls from our contact list. That would make it so much quicker and easier when issuing private contracts to corps and parties you work with a lot and have on your contacts list. |

Did you guys make any changes to scanning for anomalies? I've noticed that I'm getting a lot more scan deviation than before. Also, normally once you have "ignored other results" you could clear the filter by right clicking and choosing "Clear all ignored results." This option is no longer present and is now accessible from the button only. These things aren't a big deal I am just curious about what you changed :)

Thanks for bringing Scourge back.
There's one little thing I don't like about the missile and launcher name changes. You got an almost completely consistant naming system now except that HAMs changed to AMs (including the skill names) but HAMLs are still HAMLs.
I'm aware that some people didn't want the change from HAML to AML, I can only think of 2 possible reasons. First reason would be that HAM is such a nice and traditional acronym. But since HAMs are called AMs now that would be no reason to not rename the launchers to AMLs too.
Second reason would be that AML was a different mod before the patch. But I think it would take maybe a month or 2 till everyone noticed the change and from then on you'd have a completely consistant system. Also the proposed change from HAMs/HAMLs to AMs/AMLs makes perfect sense to make the names more distinguishable from HMs/HMLs.
Anyway, however you decide in the matter of AM vs. HAM I suggest that missiles, skills and launchers should all have the same name. /OCD |

Did anyone even bother play testing this?
Take something that stood out, made it easy to identify a stargate (and more importantly the right stargate) at a glace and remove it.
Now the stargates in null sec disappear into the list of planet names. What was a half second glace before is now searching up and down to find what you're after.

I like the new missile names in and of themselves, they do help clarify sizes, but the names are kinda long. They are hard to quickly differentiate in your inventory, depending on the column order & width one has. At least that's my experience, YMMV.
Edit(addition): Stargate change complaints--Add another overiew tab, name it "escape" or whatever and design it to be your "need a stargate NOW" tab. |
