I have about 5.3 mil skillpoints mostly all dedicated to mining/hauling. What do you think would be good/bad about rerolling/just staying with my character?

If you reroll you can keep this character in a NPC corp and use it as an alt to make isk safely or move things during war decs.
If you just train the character for combat you will possibly have some skills that cross over (learning skills, ship command, etc.)

are you kidding? rerolling takes a long time. think about learning skills, fitting skills, cap skills, etc, that you'll have to re-train.
in just 2 weeks you should be able to get most of your chosen pvp boat skills to level 4!

Well, assuming you have access to the sort of mining that actually can make you money (i.e. 0.0), then get a second account and train a combat character. You can use that character to haul/gang boost while you mine, and you'll be able to pay for both accounts with isk. Plus, you can specialize and overall train any given skill faster.
If you don't, and you just want to pvp ASAP, and not worry about how long it takes to train any given skill (which it will, lol), then just train combat on the character you have.

Personally, I run 2 characters. My main and my alt which when he gets to around 10-15m SP I sell him each time and reroll again.
I keep all the core skills on my main - PVP, mining, rorqual training, all that good stuff. The alt for cyno, hauling, freighters, then i usually finish off with hulk training and sell it.
Just an idea for a slightly different approach - the 2-3B every now and again helps ;)

Some interesting things thanks guys... I dont mine in 0.0 yet but I guess I could start in a short time. How would I pay for my accounts with isk?

This is impossible to answer anyway without knowing your attributes.
But anyway, you could just stop training this character if you're happy with the mining skills, and start training a new one on the same account. Then you don't necessarily need another account.

what this guy said, BUT ONLY if your attributies are like... horribly messed up, and you want like all the gunnery skills lv5 / weapon specialisations and such, and you have like a base perception of 3 or something.
is your willpower OVER 10?
is your base chrisma OVER 8?
is your base perception UNDER 9?
is your base Intelligence UNDER 6?
if you can answear any of the above as a YES, then consider rerolling, esp if you want a pvp character and arnt to far SP wise into the other "older" miner/hauler character with ship/gunnery skills. (dont factor in mineing/hauling skills, howmuch SP that could be pvp useable do you have? make up with yourself if its worth the reroll or to have a 2nd character that does the pvping and keep your other character as a miner)
