I donno what the masses think. But i have been living in an npc 0.0 region most part of my eve life. I have rly enjoyed myself but time changes and i want to see new stuff for these regions.
Tbh the regions are quite crap in most aspects. Why not make them a bit different from the other regions and make them really challenging.
Not like eve needs light 0.0 tbh.
So the idea is this. Make NPC 0.0 like Syndicate into a hot area for NPC rats. The AI for wormhole rats should be in these regions making rats a challenge to encounter. They should patrole stations, gates and sometimes even planets and moons. You risk to be pointed as you are when the incursions rats appear in other places of eve.
The region would become a high reward area to live but it would not be easy since you risk to warp ontop of rats you cant kill alone always. So you need your friends around you to live in this area. It would attract a bit more hardcore groups that enjoy PVE. And that would attract PVPers that want to hunt.
A simple idea No real plan in detail. |

Heh, I live in syndicate as well and I can confirm NPC 0.0 is terrible for PvE. I also lived in curse for a while, and it wasn't any better.
Anomalies are worthless, people who belt rat are idiots and exploration will earn you about the same amount as running incursions. Null sec is dead now in terms of PvE, even sov null sec is only really valuable if you control enough of a region to reliably find decent rated sites.
It's a bit of a joke when you realise most people living in null sec make their ISK in high sec.

thats another reason to make npc 00 space something different very hard pve zones where ppl pvp and pve in a 00 enviroment and it should be quite easy to connect to the story that the npc-¦s in 00 are to though for concord :D

gate rats are annoying enough IMO, getting rid of NPCs constantly scrambling you in every corner would be hell annoying. Whats the point of it? |

well the point would be to have a zone/region where living is harsh becouse of the NPC-¦s. It would ofc pay of to kill these rats and it would not be "safe" ratting in hidden plexes... more open ratting in 0.0 belts/gates/stations/planets where you encounter both hard rats and possible PVP groups. high reward, big risk.
wormhole yes they offer a bit of this. tho in a different way, more probing, more exploration.
this is about changing a boring part of eve into something new. npc regions need to stand out more from low sec or true 00 space atm they are not very crowded and they dont offer much.
this thought came after looking at these pictures. http://d35dgn2pdc8wsn.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/04.jpg http://d35dgn2pdc8wsn.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/05.jpg
it is very very very sad imo to see 70% of eve players in high sec.
imo more need to be offerd in low sec and 00
risk vs reward. apperently it is to high reward in high sec since the 70%. |

NPC Nullsec should be a place for Pirate players to join up with NPC Pirates and defend the space from those that come to farm the NPCs, as well as use it as a base in which to raid nearby Sov Nullsec. |

It's probably worth pointing out that traditionally PvE in Eve is hard due to the PvP element, rather than the NPCs. When it comes down to pure PvE content Eve is probably one of the worst games available, and I don't think CCP should go down that road further.
Any buffs to null should come with accompanying increases in risk, not from harder NPCs, but from mechanics changes giving advantages to other players hunting you. This is, for me, what made PvE in Eve fun when I first joined. Now it is just a grind, NPCs are not, and never will be, worthy opponents in this game.
Those pictures are interesting, it would be nice to know how many of those high sec dwellers are alts.

Yes it is those pictures that got me thinking... I rly rly dont like the idea of so much ppl being in high sec... High sec should be a safe place and all that... but it should not be the main part of the game. |
