LOL. That would be a 2000% ROI. If she can do it, I'd be willing to invest a couple of cargos of water. Now, anyone "cloning" wheat and long-limb roes? ---

All these people who have just come on to give your vote of confidence. Why did you not invest or speak up when the IPO first launched?
Why did you wait until it failed?

Because the so called IPO was nothing more than a trolling post. Few recognized it for what it was and acted accordingly. It was quite amusing to stamp "rejected" on Shadarle's bald head and slowly build up SiJira's hope to the point where he/she started posting seriously. As for the people posting in support of this IPO I can only guess they're a mix of old friends and fresh alts.

I can answer this one: Because of some advice I shared with SiJira. SiJira convoed me the other day and asked, "How can I salvage things here?" I honestly said that I didn't think it was possible and shared a few observations in private that I did not share here. (And people say I'm never nice!) Primarily some people dislike SiJira purely for some forum faux pas that really are meaningless in retrospect. Given the behaviors of many, including myself, SiJira's forum antics are mild and not even slightly annoying, again speaking from the mea culpa pulpit. However there are several immediate things that come to mind in reviewing SiJira as a person to invest in: - No Api Sharing Someone can have the greatest plan in the world doesn't mean they have any intention of doing it. Not having the relevant skills is a prime indicator that someone does not plan to do what they say they are doing. Also, it can be a way to hide what other toons you may have on your account. This is one of those areas where to gain credit you have to give trust. Trust that a few select people won't out your information from an api check to gain credibility about your plans and intentions and your good word. - NPC Corp I pointed out that SiJira's being exclusively in an NPC corp can bother investors. For the most part no one can make any serious investment into an NPC corporation. People who stay in the NPC corps, all the time, simply have none of the emotional connections with their corp mates. Connections & investments that usually lead to moral decisions to help & protect your friends. After all, historically people go over the wall and charge the guns with their mates, because of their mates, and it is a poor person indeed who does not have that much honor. Even in a game. That being said, being in an NPC corp also means that investors, so inclined, have no one they can punish if SiJira absconds. Even in those cases where someone scams and bails out on their player corp there is still someone who can be chastised. And normally people don't do this to their friends. And being in an NPC corp, it is hard to conceive of any developing real lasting friendship. - Negative Security Status Again just another factor in the review but added in with the other points just leads to a poor picture. Not to say having a Negative Sec Status is, by itself, a bad indicator. Many here have had them, have them, or are once again headed for negative. So, in the end, the points were this: - No Skill check - No Toon(Alt) Check - No Character References/Recommendations - No Employment History (More Reference Checks) - No Attachments to anyone or anything When you then add in those few who bash SiJira for the necroing, this thread is a dead thread. The messianic reference (joke) was part because as I had just being going over my sermon as I read the updates here. Interestingly enough those references came after this thread is dead. I felt a Lazarus attempt is/was being made and it struck my funny bone. For myself, I think that this thread should have been allowed to die with some dignity and another attempt made some time later. A bit more preparation might also be in order if that path is chosen. Will be interesting to see what choice is finally made and if any will ever work, now.

that whole thread is a good read especially for some posters in this thread who posted in that thread and then made some false claims in this one
the focus was on a trusted named securing another persons ipo whether the person running it is already trusted or not
some md regulars enjoy watching stupid people invest in scams so that suggestion was ignored and the focus was shifted to collateral - there was no reason to bring up that point again once that stance was clear

On a more serious note, create an Amarr military character in the Imperial Academy. Say "Hi" whenever SiJira logs on and watch her give you a million ISK. And a destroyer.

I havent read the entire thread but when I started I was one of those people she gave a mill isk. She didnt give me a destroyer but I remember a fully equiped punisher.
Also once when I lost a harbinger she gave me a large loan to buy another and equip it.
SiJira is good people

SiJira's been very good to new recruits, helped me when I needed it most, and doesn't look to be going anywhere with anyone's isk when she's always ready to hand out so much of her own.
Ideas don't usually come ready-made with a business plan and need sincere guidance to make sense. I'm sorry to see there was more bashing than helping going on here. In all the years I've played, this isn't the worst idea anyone's come up with.

Good points other than this bit Shar. I stayed in RMS a long time and you do get to know the regulars after even just the first few weeks. It's probably more familial than most player corps. To the point that when I started planning to leave I created an alumni channel which is now populated with those who were in RMS when I started and are still there, as well as some that didn't start until after I left.
Most of my early PvP was adhoc gangs from RMS going after Ammold can baiters, ore flippers and the odd low-sec pirate that would chose to pod 1 day old noobs rather than just popping their Probe or Burst and sending them back to high-sec with a lesson learned.
Point being that while, yes, it's harder to run a business from an NPC corp, (if for no other reason than lack of shares) that doesn't necessarily rule out doing business with someone. I was still in RMS when I did my first deal with Eefrit reselling T2 modules, and I don't know Si Jira all that well but had no problem getting unsecured loans into 9 figures repaid promptly.
I agree that someone being in an NPC corp can be a red flag, but if they're a long-term regular (and throwing an alt in makes it easy to see if someone really is or not) the connection is no less than a player corp. |

Well, you shouldn't give up that easily. Imagine how hard it was for me to get investment with such a name. Just launch the IPO/bond and I'm sure you'll find some investors.
