One of my biggest hopes for future eve is that they will implement some kind of personal habitat, to go along with ambulation. Imagine a module you can anchor in space, a docking port so your ships sit outside while you're fiddling about inside. It would be like a home in space, say, you'll only be able to have one ship on it at any time. You would be able to build/change interior depending on your needs. \o/

well you got a point ,all this would be nice and good , but it will probably never happen anyway , this thread going to be moved to Features and Ideas Discussion forum ,and dies in obscurity there probably .
but if you look at it from other way, in some cases, it might even solve the lag !
imagine a destructive unpredictable solar storm ,destroying or severely crippling few hundreds strong fleet on the way to engagement , that will surely will solve some lag
but from other angle it will take dev hacks complaints and tin hattery theories to new highs

Asteroids in eve just aren't like asteroids in the real universe, they don't hang out in clumps they're widely separated and spread throughout the solar system. So mining would be even more boring because you'd only ever find one or two asteroids next to each other (we have discovered asteroids with satellites) Here's an awesome map which shows the location of every known asteroid in the inner solar system: http://szyzyg.arm.ac.uk/~spm/
Binary and trinary systems don't need to be in the game - distant binaries are practically different star systems (tens of thousands of AU between the stars) and closer binaries tend to churn up proroplanetary discs so that planetary formation doesn't take place. Close binary stars wouldn't have much in the way of planets or resources so why would anyone build a jump gate to go there?
Black holes & Neutron stars, now these are essentially supernova remenants, any planets and asteroids might have been blown away and the local environment would be somewhat hostile. Nobody would build a jump gate to those systems ****
Nebulae and gas clouds are already all over the background environments, and they're a million times brighter than they are in reality. Besides we already have deadspace where the pirates hide out to disable those pesky MWD's and even the odds.
Planet and moon models could definitly use some upgrades.
Dark Matter is dark and therefore hard to display.
Comets are essentially ice asteroids that get too close to the star and melt.
**** Supernovae remnants and active novae could be a nice site for high end mineral mining, minerals that have been transformed by the energies unleashed. Imagine mining in a naturally hostile environment for those tech 3 minerals - you need a tank just to deal with the radiation, and in the case of active novae maybe you have to vacate the system at short notice...
