There was another post made on here for a similar reason, but it seemed there was a great deal of disagreement as to what a good setup for a raven would be for a PVP situation. Here was one that someone suggested:
High: Siege Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Juggernaut Torpedo Siege Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Mjolnir Torpedo Siege Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Inferno Torpedo Siege Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Bane Torpedo Siege Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Juggernaut Torpedo Siege Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Mjolnir Torpedo Heavy Unstable Power Fluctuator I Heavy Unstable Power Fluctuator I
Medium: 100MN MicroWarpdrive II Large Shield Extender II Invulnerability Field II Invulnerability Field II Target Painter II Sensor Booster II, Scan Resolution
Low: Ballistic Control System II Ballistic Control System II Power Diagnostic System II Power Diagnostic System II Damage Control II
Rigs: Ballistic Control System II Ballistic Control System II Power Diagnostic System II Power Diagnostic System II Damage Control II
I'm not even sure how good this setup is or if there are better ones. But this was my best lead as to a good setup. Does anyone have anything better or is this one ok?
I know obviously there is no exact setup that is always good and there will be plenty of disagreement on the subject. But if anyone has any clear ideas on the subject, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You. -------------------------------------------- "I don't mind being called a liar when I'm about to lie, when I lying, or just finished lying, but not when I'm telling the truth!" - Homer Simpson |

You forgot my rigs....
2x Ancillary Current Router 1x Core Defense Field Extender.
This is an expensive ship to fly (power rigs) and yes your cap will fail after 1 min if you have everything on and yes the 2x cap destabs does seem like overkill...
But you can so wipe someone out

I'd probably drop one of the heavy neuts altogether, drop the ACR rigs in favour of extender rigs, and then have a RCU II / 3x BCU II/ DC II setup in the lows. If you're still lacking powergrid, ditch the 100MN MWD II for a Quad-lif MWD (best named).
Also, I'd drop the sensor booster for another LSE II really.
A very nice gang setup. Don't forget to overheat invulns when under fire.

Your setup might be a good one for a gang engaging at close range (less than 30 km). I think you're going to have cap trouble using the microwarp drive with the invul's. You might want to consider putting on a cap booster in place of one of the invul's, then punch up your resistances up with EM, Thermal, and Kinetic rigs.

Well, given the OP is using T2 sieges, for firing at range for whatever reason, he can simply load javelins.
MWD is just for burning back / burning away / bit of range control, not for running anywhere close to pernamently.
Extender rigs are significantly better then specific hardening rigs.

Get rid of the ancil rigs, fit a T2 RCU and ditch one of the heavy neuts.

Edited by: CrazedNighthawk on 23/09/2008 13:34:25 yea, the other heavy neut is kinda overkill. I just realized that I have a problem with the current rig. Right now I don't have torpedoes up to level 5 and I don't have torpedo specialization and it will take me over 28 days to get it. I do have skills to fire torpedoes but they aren't up to 5. Would it be ok if I had Siege Missile Launcher I instead of the II or would it be worth working on that first and just wait till I have it? -------------------------------------------- "I don't mind being called a liar when I'm about to lie, when I lying, or just finished lying, but not when I'm telling the truth!" - Homer Simpson |

This is the setup I have so far. I've tried to incorporate everything you guys were saying but because of CPU and Power Grid limitations, this is what I came up with.

no mwd = no rr. You're primaried first as a shield tanker while being the only one without a MWD trying to slow boat 10k back to the gate. My guess is you're dead before you've gotten to within 8km of the gate. How to Fail at Eve

yea, thats why I wanted a MWD on my raven because that actually happened to me the first time around and I don't plan on making that mistake again. -------------------------------------------- "I don't mind being called a liar when I'm about to lie, when I lying, or just finished lying, but not when I'm telling the truth!" - Homer Simpson |

Hmm that would mean i would have to change one lse to a mwd and downgrade to medium remote reps and change the dc to a pdu :(

6X T2 Cruise Launchers: Faction or T2 percisions.
3 T2 Sensor Booster 1 T2 Invulrabilty field 1 x T2 Large Shield Extender 100MN MWD
3 T2 BCU 2 T2 PDU's
RIGS 3 X HBT
Now this setting is very light on shield and as some of you have surely noticed that is no shield booster. However as far as I know there are not many if any solo pvp raven pilots so it's obvious that a gang set up a raven is most typical.
During my time in 0.0 pvp I'd have to say that 85% of my targets are Battle Cruiser and smaller ships. Thus torps are just not verisile enough, hence cruise missles. Also with this set up and no missle implants and most of my missle skills maxed at five my cruise missle fly over 11k/second.
Explaination of why my mids are fitted the way they are. I got tired of watching my gang lock and kill 85% of the ships we engaged while my raven was still locking the target. Ravens are not the largest threat on the field so I rarely got call primary and as many should know, once your called it doest not matter how well your fit, your going down like a fat womens pound cake on her birthday!
My stats: 833 kills with a Raven to loosing 19 Ravens.
Who cares if this is my alt try the set up and see for yourself!

Right, that's why your ranked 4,961 with a 9:1 kill ratio on battleclinic and I'm ranked 2,957 with a 13:1 kill ratio huh. And from the looks of the fittings on your "LAST" posted raven lost I wouldn't be talking. lolz!
