Long live Jamyl Sarum.
While, I myself, sought the position of the throne, it is good a fellow woman now sits upon it.
Perhaps now, we can reclaim those systems which have been lost, bringing them back into the fold of the Empire.

I am keenly interested in what kind of actions the Jamyl may take at her coronation ceremony (or directly following it). Since she has only recently reappeared and has not spoken publicly about her dissapearance and return, we know absoloutly nothing about what she may have seen, done, or undergone in her seeming self-imposed exile... and thus nothing about her style of rule. Any action during or after the coronation ceremony will be the sign we have of her ruling style. ----------------------------------------------

It's simple. She will just reveal that she went into exile to learn the right ways to rule an Empire. This is of course the Sani Sabik ideology: Power, War, Reclaiming.
Style of rule? Jamyl was always by sheeding blood first and asking questions later. Perfect ruler if she still embraces her warlike nature. Next, she just needs to abolish the pax amarr and declare the apocrypha the leading guide to the coming Empire under her rulership.

Considering that Pod pilots are not immortal per se (We're copied in most cases if we die inside the pod. If you're killed outside it you're just as dead as anyone) and that "Empress" Jamyl Sarum should already be dead... Then who knows except God?
As for the issue itself. It's obvious that the Theology council and Heirs themselves have become corrupted in their eagerness to bow to Jamyl Sarum and her titandestroyer. Their complete disregard for tradition and scripture is disconcerting to say the least. ______________________________________________ -My respect can not be won, only lost. I pray the Empress will follow in the footsteps of Heideran VII, and continue to bring the empire forward in the galaxy through peaceful means and social reforms. I also pray she has body guards, as Emperors that deviate from certain standards have an unfortunate tendency to wind up dead.

If you have read the Empyrean Age Book you will know that Jamyl Sarum is a POD pilot also. She survived the trials because she was cloned. Few other reasons as well but i say any more. "Spoilers"

I think you might be a bit too optimistic about Witch Queens attitude towards Sani Sabik supporters and our cause.
According to good contacts within the raider covenant, they are not pleased at all and are mobilizing forces at a scale not seen before. The purpose of this mobilization is still in the mist though, some say it is defensive measures while others claim an offense against the Empire is coming shortly. Other, more quiet voices, are speculating more sinister reasons.

Mmmmmm
* Revan adjusts her sunglasses poundering over the communication of a fellow Sani Sabik *
Optimistic... Maybe.. maybe Mr. Arnon. After seeing the Golden Empire falling in Chaos with the past weak and disgusting rulers, I won't tell you that I don't feel a little excited about Jamyl assuming the throne.
Make no mistake: I'm a true Amarr and a Sani Sabik. To me, The Sani Sabik Ideology of Power, Wars and Reclaiming is all that a true Amarr should be. We are a race unique and conquerors. But no... we watched day after day the infidels being forgiven, the sub-races crawling within our Empire contaminating each corner of it. Poverty and pity justified by an invented God that is not our God. We have nothing with the outcast and the unfit: let them die in their misery. And what about our past rulers? Is a God to live in a dog? No! but the highest are of us. Beauty and strength, force and fire, are of us.
Jamyl be wise to learn with the chaos and embrace the true nature of the Amarr: The Sani Sabik. May she prove herself a weakling like all others. We will be ready.

We will see, the Empire certainly needs an Emperor or Empress... but this is all highly irregular and deeply wrong. When the Empire forgets its traditions and laws, and what was written in the Scriptures, it becomes weaker, and a bit less connected to God. We lose ourselves.
No, we need a guide, but this is not the way. We will, of course, obey, but this is still wrong.

Let me remind every loyal Amarrian here that it is NOT our place to question our leaders in public. If Lady Sarum is to be crowned Emperor (Empress in this case), then that is the Will of God. What happens afterward, for good or for ill, is ALSO the Will of God. We must be patient, perhaps very patient, to see what God has planned for us through this event.
In the end, God's Will shall be revealed to us, if we bide our time and listen. ---------------

First of all,
even if I¦m born in the Kingdom I am and will always be loyal to the Empire.
It¦s a good Sign that Jamyl Sarum is coronated to Empress. The last few Months haven¦t been the proudest of our beloved Empire. We need the strength, the will and the ruthlessness she displayed in battle when she, and not the regular golden fleet defended us against those terrorists. We have to end their constant attacks on our borders once and for all...
I¦m absolutely convinced that with Lady Sarum as leader the Amarrians will once again claim their rightful place among the stars.

Quite agreed. Though I may not agree with the means and ways of her ascension to the throne, she is our Empress. Pointless ranting and displays of inappropriate behavior in respect to Her Majesty would accomplish nothing and would be of great detriment to the Empire as a whole. Thankfully, non-"podders" dont have access to the IGS.
I myself will cautiously await her speech and make my judgements and conclusions after we see what she does.
May God grant you Wisdom, Pilots.

Jamyl was missing for several years, and was supposed to be dead. When she came back, she brought with her a mysterious weapon unknown to mankind, as well as a small personal fleet. The weapon was so powerful that it obliterated an entire Tribal armada, something even the Imperial Navy could not accompolish in days let alone minutes. It sounds a tad bit unholy to me.
Suddenly she has the support of the entire Theology Council as well as the Imperial heirs. Now that she is given the position of Empress without going through the traditional trials, I find it suspcious. I will, however, respect and obey the decision from the Council, but I do not agree with it. Per Ardua ad Astra - Through Adversity, to the Stars

This has been explained in private diplomatic channels, but it boils down to preventing actions tatamount to piracy and extortion within low security Empire systems.
I'm sure you'll be just as receptive to this explanation in a public setting as you were in private. This was a conflict long in coming.

Apparently mining in Zanka, selling items from Zanka without permission, and not responding to those specific demands in local channels constitutes a threat to the Empress?
Fair play. CVA considers those actions a threat to good order and discipline within the Empire. CVA considers those actions nothing short of extortion.
And so we have a conflict of interest, and standings adjusted accordingly.
Do not bring Her Holiness into this. You threw around the name of CVA in your bullying attempts, until CVA caught wind of it. Now you use another name to legitimize your actions. Disgusting.

We have here a list of vague accusations with no real substance. Self serving ways? You referrence our selfishness and greed twice, when it is CCCPI who will fire upon neutral vessels for the "crime" of mining or selling items from Zanka. The "crime" of industrial and financial competition.
Self serving ways? Who's self-serving here?
You have been firing upon vessels for simply ignoring your hails in local channels; this is "holy" and suits the needs of the Empire?
CVA's policies in Providence are far more relaxed...and it is space sovereign in our name!
Self serving?
Goodness gracious. I'll be far more convinced if Her Holiness decries CVA's efforts.

Edited by: Pharaik on 25/09/2008 21:49:17 Its funny how protectors of true pirates and theifs can come forth and accuse us of such defence manners.
You set pirates Blue who constanly attack citadel members in area's surrounding providence and do nothing.
And in the IAC war with -A- you still aid those who attack your memebers at there own will when ever they feel like it.
You may clame more space than we wish to hold but your actions and allainces are far from those the empress would see fit.
The day will come clear and you will see you are in the wrong and we have done nothing but protect the empresses interests, and is such you should be more concerned about the coming war on your space than to be Kos's an allie of which has been willing to hold up arms everytime you have called.
An allie you have lost over a matter of a usless civ, Time will tell if it was worth such a move.

Oh i do enjoy the typical liberal gallente posing as an amarr. you attempt round up our royal mandate, to serve the intrests of your lies. Edit it as you like Garreck, yes we do protect zanka, We request people do not conduct certain activities, But then again have you taken the time to ask yerself why? doubtful. As we serve a royal mandate and we have always done for the people of amarr and followed her majesties orders, we do not need to explain ourselves to you. You twist this to suit yer personal agenda.
We speak of your sovern space, and your rights, HA! if you fail to notice while your relaxed space, and your relaxed policies, serve as an exuse to use those around you. if you have not noticed Amarr is at war. while you protect your sovern space, Against an enemy you brought in with your support of pirates such as IAC. Funny how the people of providence suffer to that of -A- due to yer alleigences with pirates, falshoods and attempts to promote your so called "diplomacy" which mind you suits only your own agenda. Fail where it will. You let countless pirates slip through and then kill innocents becasue of past activities, and claim, "your not antipirates" its true your not, you fail to recognise the edicts of the scriptures. You protect only the space that serves your intrest not all space. And CCCPi has never killed a nuetral, We operate NRDS have and always will. While countless times ive seen CVA kill nuetrals in there so called "Relaxed sovergn space."
The moral of the story,is you turn on your allies to serve your agenda,, becasue We will not bow down to you. your insurrection is at an end. A true empress has been called, and she is not your lord Aralis. So you will serve the will of AMARR and that of Jamyl Sarum,. and recognise the reclaiming, and the war before us as the people of amarr. Against piracy and transgressions.

You like to use the word Extortion,, Which is amusing because your accusations assume too much. Claiming we get money for our activities. What more can be said but. that is the farthest from the truth and typical of CVA to reach as such. Grasping for straws to take light away from your own activities. CCCPi has never extorted nor charged money for the assitance of anyone ever, and as for your instances of Iac, being punished in providence. Seems you flit back and forth from your rules in amarr space. How about all the times you have done nothing for them killing in lower domain. Oh wait, thats not CVA space. So then why are we here talking about the laws you claim to enforce.
Oh right that service of your own intrests again! And we speak of your justice. which lets pirates pirate while you ask for proof in a world filled with deciet. When you dont seek proof you seek cause to serve your own intrests. CVA should look to protect its space and stop claiming its position as part of the empire. you lost yer way long ago. You are not a part of the amarr empire. And the CVA empire should stay in CVA space. While you still have it,

Lady Jamyl Sarum, Holder and Royal Heir of House Sarum. Empress-Designate of the Amarr Empire. She was supposed to commit Shathol-Syn (ritual suicide) during the last coronation ceremony for Emperor Doriam. She appeared at that time to complete the ceremony, though there was a disturbance at that ceremony.
It appears that the suicide was either faked, or God has brought her back in the Empire's time of need. I myself... reserve judgement.

Indeed. I myself am... uneasy with recent events. The actions of the Heirs and the Theology Council are not ... traditional. I know that sounds foolish, but it still makes me... uneasy. Strange things are happening these days, my friends, and it would behoove us all to pay attention to them.

Believe what you wish. With Lady Sarum assuming the throne I feel that many things will change at the Empire. There is something about her that feels very right. Whatever she did, wherever she went to learn all those years, seem to me that the experience have made her embrace a nature that many aren't expecting.

To me, doing whatever she pleases is a sign of tyranny and lack of accountability. Zaragram II did whatever he wanted while he was on the throne, and he was a fool that brought nothing but misery to Amarr. Jamyl owes the Empire an explanation and it is the least she could do.
Quote: * Revan smiles amused * Tell me that Brother Joshua was one of those who vanished under the carpet with Lady Sarum return? She is cleansing the house you fools.
Arbitrarily cleaning her political opponents and clearing the path to the throne seems like a more logical answer. If a crime has been committed by a member of Speakers of Truth, then it should be brought public to the Theology Council and dealt with in public. Jamyl has no authority to act arbitrarily, especially when she has not yet been coronated.

While I find Empire politics rather tedious, I do find your conversation quite... humorous. However, I must clarify a couple of things that I disagree with Pilot Sarum about.
Originally by: Arelius Sarum She needs to explain why she is still alive and where she obtained the weapon from.
What does it matter? To be honest, she could be in league with the Devil himself, as long as she continues to hold the figurative "biggest stick". There are many ways to avoid death that many would consider miraculous, sheer luck by my best guess, but many would call it Divine Intervention. As for her weapon... I have tried to obtain logs of ships in the area when it was used, that much power... *Inara closes her eyes, as if tasting a fine meal* Magnificent!
Originally by: Arelius Sarum The end does not justify the means. Mind you, we have not seen the results and we already have people disappearing.
Has not the Empire done things that are less than honorable to achieve their goals in the past? I find your double standards to be quite amusing; It's okay for previous leaders to have shady dealings, but the soon to be Empress must be "perfect"?
And, you are wrong, the ends does justify the means. I remember an old story about a man who became a monster, blood-thirsty, power-mad, he was the worst of the worst... but he did it so his family could live free of the other monsters in the world. While a children's tale, because obviously men cannot physically transform into hideous beasts with claws and fangs, the moral stays the same.
My hope is that some day, after she has been crowned, she has a "get together" for all of you who have spoken ill of her and allows you to see first hand the power of the tool she has aboard her Abaddon-class battleship. And maybe on that day, I will be fortunate enough to have a friend nearby to take proper scans so that power can be harnessed within my own circles.

When the two most likely options of Jamyl Sarum being still alive are:
1. She faked her suicide, and is thus a coward and a blasphemer as it was both scripture and her duty to the empire to go through with Shathol-Syn. 2. She's a clone. And thus a criminal and blasphemer as the Heirs (and all potential heirs) are not allowed to be tainted by cloning technology.

Mr. Delateriel is correct, it is as simple as that. Of course, it can be a "miracle", so all we're saying is that we deserve an explanation. And no, Miss Neferis, I don't pretend her to explain it to a pilot such as myself, but believe me I have spoken with many agents inside both the Heir families and the Theology Council and none of them could or were willing to explain anything. There is a problem there, because it hints directly to the lack of a true miracle, and the existance only of political maneuvering. No canonization process has started, afterall.
As for all that defend the "all is appropriate if the means are worthy" approach, I shall remember you that such is a false truth inside the Empire. At least among those of us who still follow the True Faith. There is only one path for us all to follow: God's path. Nothing, and I mean nothing, justifies leaving that path.
As for Brother Joshua, I must admit I haven't spoken with him lately, so I can't confirm if he was one of the dissapeared Speakers. But if anyone is taking care of the Speakers of Truth in this manner they are not only breaking the laws of the Amarr, but also our traditions. And shall be punished for it.

And the day comes to light when they transpire fear and uncertainty, and debate against each other about the legitimacy of their cerimonies and the judgement of their betters.

Ah Keter of the Ordo, I did not mention your words alone. A few days before her Coronation and we can hear screams of loyalists floading the IGS with words such as betrayer, conspirator, false clone, dubious amidst others.
I ask you, Keter: Are those words pertinent to the Empress to be?

Certainly Jamyl Sarum is the Empress to be. And the words you have spoken against her, showing the extreme lack of faith won't change their meaning after a few days. It will be marked. And it will remembered.

Ahem.
Actually I would find it quite amusing if the Empress revealed shortly after coronation that she is infact a follower of the Sani Sabik faith. The irony would be most exquisite.

Thank you for reminding that the loyalists were not even able to revenge their fallen and hid their tails between their legs.
Now let me see, the reason why you are bringing the this topic here can only be a few as you are very predictable:
To try to diverge the fact that PIE came here desperate to make loyalists shut their mouths regarding Jamyl and was totaly ignored
or
To try to bring the fact that Jamyl can be involved with Jovian technology and perhaps even made the revenge herself siding with Sani Sabik.
Or are you the one to reveal to the world what Jamyl has been up to all those years... when she retiurns from death and so do I? Worried much? You should and it shows.
Of course there is the option of delusion, when a mind cannot grasp the nature of anannouncement and speaks about something totaly different as " Coronation of the Future Empress x Revenge of Atioth " but that would be clinical and I'd hate to think that my most amusing enemy is getting into that path.
Now, now heretic... any of the above, the fact remains that trying to disrupt a thread about the Coronation of your Empress speaks lots about your own lack of judgement in the matter. tsk tsk, bad boy, bad boy...

Perhaps you should read up on things before opening your mouth? Although now that I think about it, you never allowed your ignorance of a subject to prevent you from claiming to be an expert before, so why start now?
Maybe you should read the statement I made after Jamyl's reappearance in order to better understand our stance on this.

Ah do enlight me the correlation between Atioth with the Coronation of teh Empress
It seems like even after returning to death, I'm more up to date to your delusions than you are about your realities.
But that is a known fact of years and years...
Now, as a true Amarr Sani Sabik, I will pay my respects to Jamyl and let the communication follow the flow of what it pertains. ( still waiting anxiously of course the Atioth x Coronation comment of yours if you deem to derail the important announcement even further, which is always a sign of loyalism at their best)

Do I really need to spell it out for you?
I had hoped that you were smart enough to work it out for yourself, but it seems that it is not to be so.
The correlation isn't directly between Lady Jamyl and Atioth, but rather between you claiming to be some sort of expert on the matter at hand and your previous claims on other matters - claims which have all invariably turned out to be a pile of old baloney.

If Jamyl Sarum declares that she has returned to bring back the only Amarr ancient faith, written at The holy Apocrypha containg the parts of the scripture that were removed by pure negligence and corrupt modern politics, yes, I will swear my unconditional support to her.
So far, her return has done nothing than to please me. The destruction of teh Armada, the happy " coincidence" of the dissapearance of several members of the false weal Speakers of truth. I have no reasons whatsoever to think that Jamyl isn't back to bring Amarr to it's glory again.

You are very right. You would be loyal even if they sit a slave hound at the throne and declare that all loyalists should bark instead of speak. That's the nature pof people who doesn't think. On that we are very different indeed. The very reason why I left the Empire at first place is because I believe that being Ammar is not only bending to whatever circunstance. Being Amarr is feeling as an Amarr and taking pride on conquer, wage wars, power and all that flows within our Blood.
I take great pride on saying that: we are extremelly different. Now, this thread isn't about you or me , is it?

At least she appears to be interested about this cerimony and polite when speaking about it. From an outsider trying to follow the fact and understand it, you're the one disrespecting your own traditions. If I compare what she speaks against what you speak, it's easy to see that she knows more about being a true Amarr than any of you so desperate to insult her. Originally by: Inara Subaka While I find Empire politics rather tedious, I do find your conversation quite... humorous. However, I must clarify a couple of things that I disagree with Pilot Sarum about.
At this point, she has bypassed traditions and laws, seemingly faked her own death and working with some unknown forces. At this rate, she has the potential to be the most tyranical ruler the Empire will have.
Quote: Has not the Empire done things that are less than honorable to achieve their goals in the past?
You logic is very amusing. I carry the blame for double standards when the action is done by the state? Perhaps you should put down the Mindflood and learn the actions of a state is attributed to the government and not the individual citizen.
And to what end does that serve? Silencing her opponents by arranging their disappearance? This is laughable on so many levels. An Empire without a voice of dissent will become stagnant and tyranical. In the most likely case, Jamyl faked her own death which spells lack of integrity and honesty. I do not wish to be the subject of such person.
Perhaps she would make a good businesswoman in Caldari along with the greedy executives, but she is unfit to rule in Amarr. Per Ardua ad Astra - Through Adversity, to the Stars

The core Sani Sabik tenets include blooding of those in lesser positions of power for the glory of those above them. When combined with the Amarrian interest in long life, this resulted in horrid and ineffectual rituals. Your passionate belief in what amounts to the animalistic side of human nature is not entirely unfounded but you refuse to see how that is incorporated in the current scriptures. With Jamyl in power, perhaps you will realize that being loyal to the existing families and ways of doing things is not as decadent and weak as you think it is.
The human spirit is a fierce and powerful source of energy, quick to burn others and quicker to burn out. The fortress of Amarrian culture sternly harnesses this energy and makes it so much more than it otherwise would be.

My apologies, but I'm currently being wired into my pod, and don't feel like exposing myself to the universe at large.
I may be no expert in the ways of the Empire, I only spent a small amount of time within their borders, but I do remember quite well that it was not a democracy. There is no need for the government to answer to it's people, yet that is exactly what many loyalists are demanding.
Perhaps someone could clarify how they feel they are justified to question those in authority when they don't live within the bleeding heart Federation?
*a few soft beeps can be heard before Inara continues*
Here it is, an empire is a state that extends dominion over populations distinct culturally and ethnically from the culture/ethnicity at the center of power; it's a monarchy with an emperor as head of state. And I'm sure we all know a monarchy is a form of government in which supreme power is actually or nominally lodged in an individual, who is the head of state, often for life or until abdication, and "is wholly set apart from all other members of the state."
Wholly set apart... by living in the system you do, you accept that the ruling body is the law and they are right. The people within an Empire have no say in governmental concerns... in fact, I would go as far as to repeat something I've said in other conversations: to live in the Empire, is to live in slavery. Not only the Matari that are held in bonds, but the Holders themselves, are slaves.

Now Mr Avel, I'll refrain to speak much about Blood Raiders and Sani Sabik here as to not derail the thread any further than your loyalists has done already as pointed by one of the pilots. Suffice to say that I also find this blood cutting and lashing disgusting and I consider it as a wrong interpretation of the Apocrypha. Blood is sacred for true Amarrians and shouldn't be treated as such. So no, Sani Sabik Ideology of many sects doesn't embrace such practices. Mine, included.

Originally by: Blanche Genevre As much as may find the term stalking to be fitting you as a glove, stalking is defined as the willful, malicious and repeated following and harassing of another person.
And that's the only thing you have been doing.
Firstly - I'm sorry, what? "As much as may find the term stalking to be fitting you as a glove"? Is there an issue with your translation software or is it simply unable to compensate for your abyssmal command of language?
Stalking - "Stalking is the obsessive following, observing, or contacting of another person, or the obsessive attempt to engage in any of these activities. This includes following the person to certain places, to see where they live or what the person does on a daily basis, it also includes seeking and obtaining the person's personal information in order to contact him or her; e.g. looking for his or her details on computers, electoral rolls, personal files and other material containing the person's private information without his or her consent."
For it to be stalking, it requires that I be obsessed, which I'm clearly not, as I would otherwise find little time for pursuits such as making money and running my corporation - and I'm sure any member of my corporation you care to ask will assure you that this is not the case. Ah, I see the problem. You assume that threads on the IGS are sacrosanct and private, and that it's rude to interject with one's own personal opinion on a matter. Well, girl, the universe is a cruel bastard and so is the IGS. If you don't like what I have to say - tough. That's right, tough. Deal with it. If you think that you have some sort of right on the IGS to see only things that you like, I've got some news which will no doubt leave an unbelievably sour taste in that condescending, sneering little mouth of yours - you don't.
If I had my way there'd be not one single pro-slavery capsuleer on the IGS, nor would there be pirates, Heth-supporters, Sanshas, or, indeed, 90% of the people you see around here, and to be quite frank I think if any one capsuleer had their way, almost all of us wouldn't have a voice. You should be most grateful that no-one does have their way, and that you may voice your petty little opinions, in defiance of all common sense and propriety. But do not assume that simply because you have a right to say what you like that you have a right to hear what you like.
Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from speech. And anyone who can't come to grips with that fact? Damn right I have no respect for them.
Now, as for being obsessed - well, if you won't believe my word when I say I'm not obsessed, it's quite clear you'll never believe anyone else's, so I won't bother trying to convince you. Such strongly held delusions are a waste of effort to try and dislodge.

You know... I find Andreus' communications usually to be... hmmm...
Well, somewhat infuriating, usually annoying, definitely something to raise my blood pressure, and after I have thought them out and actually read them, highly entertaining and SOMETIMES even <gasp> yes, thought provoking in some strange way. Without the Andreuses of the universe, things would be a bit less bright, if for no other reason than we didnt have someone to make us so damned irritated.
Consequently, I think its a bit unfair to paste the labels on Andreus that you have. We all can be a bit ... strident at times, and can get a bit shrill when pushed. Perhaps he goes a bit further then others would, but then again, its a free world, no?

I'll help you with that. Polite is for example not trying to bypass a profanity filter in this forum. Something that you have done. Entertaining is when you can sit down and relax and participate in a community with stories and such without having to be assaulted everytime by a bunch of communications like yours.

No, I just assume that IGS threads as any area of this forum is a place where pilots can read, learn and understand about eve story and eventually even get involved with what's happening. What I don't assume is that IGS or any other area of this forum is a place for pilots to harrass others because their psychiatric disturbances, obsessions and unresolved issues. Don't think he's harrassing Miss Neferis any more than he has harrased... or exposed his opinions... the rest of us. So I must day that, in this chance and only this one, Mr Ixiris is right.
That I believe makes this thread a rather peculiar one. First Mr Ixiris speaks well of Lord Blake, and now I back him. This is getting rather strange.
As for the debate on the Scriptures, I don't think Miss Neferis is in this case an authority regarding them. Afterall, the Sani Sabik follow the Apocryphon, which basically means the "rejected book", or "unapoved book". Same as the Tetrimon. Of course, if she considered the Scriptures to be true, she wouldn't be Sani Sabik, so her words have no point in this.
On the other hand, the whola amarrian nation, exemplified in the Theology Council, has decided that we follow those Scriptures. Even if they weren't true, the fact is that they are what we believe in as a whole. For that, even if only for that, none of our rulers have the power nor the right to ignore them.

Explained this to her Sepherim, and after a few drinks with me at the Caesure I believe that we have found a good agreement about this case. Generally it's not unusual that a new pilot comes here and reacts as such. But than again, it'll take here just enough time to know how to deal with such trouble makers and learn to have fun with them. I'm sure she'll get there.

Never claimed to ahve authority over the scriptures, where did you take this from Keter? I merely stated that nothing says that it is the true scriptures and if you ask me, if Jamyl isn't following it says a lot about it's possible veracity. Now you won't have me taking the words of blind capsuleers over Jamyl's decision, any day. It's obvious that the true scriptures are the parts hidden into the Holy Apocrypha.

I didn't take it from your speech, was just pointing that fact out for those who may think that your position as one of the heads of the Sani Sabik faith gives you such power in all Amarr religion.

Ah ok, that sounds reasonable Keter of the Ordos. And it was a good clarification, as I'd hate to think anyone less informed having thoughts about me having anything to do with that false bunch of words from an unholy manipulated book that is used to keep the dirty amarrian politics in place and people submissive.
The True Amarr can recognize the truth within the Apocrypha. It calls for our souls and blood.

The whole case was deeper than that loyalist. Grand Master Horm and I have had... business to finish. The information that I would actually kill him at the ruins of the city of God reached his ears before it should and that was the only reason why Horm cut his part on the deal and lived to further hurt the Empire. And you should thank your way dead frozen commander Graelyn for that. The prize I would have gotten for his death was way more tempting than just negociating your surrender.
But do not stir that which should not be stired here pilot, specially regarding past dealings of your own alliance in this matter. Let teh dead rest, while Jamyl will rise.

That you once were right in something, doesn't mean you are right now in a completely different issue. The Sani Sabik was in no measure used to value the truth in the Tetrimon's claim, and so was not judged during the process. In any case, we all know the Sani Sabik is a heresy considered such by the Theology Council, so the truth or falseness in Lady Jamyl Sarum's right to being Empress does not depend in any way of the Sani Sabik faith.
In fact, if I may say so, Thrice Illustrious Leader of the Sani Sabik, your "support" of Lady Sarum can only harm her in all that has to do with the Empire.

Both Issues pertaining to high matters of the State, nonetheless. And the possibility of me being right or wrong, matters little. As a matter of fact it places you in a delicate position Keter:
If I'm right and Jamyl turns to be everything that she is letting transparent by her actions ( reasons why you loyalists are so concerned at first place), you will see new colours shinning the Amarr Empire. Not Golden but Crimson.
If I'm wrong and Jamyl isn't the rightful rule of the Amarr Empire, it means that you must be right and the Empress will be than a false Empress who cheated customs and traditions and will rule the Empire against everything that you, loyalists ever believed.
So which of the two evils will you embrace as a cause Keter? Is it better that I be right or wrong this time?
Originally by: Sepherim The Sani Sabik was in no measure used to value the truth in the Tetrimon's claim, and so was not judged during the process.
This information is wrong and I'll rectify it because new pilots may want to have the correct reference to base their arguments: The Sani Sabik was a central point over all Tetrimon case, having my last home Verisum family and my own, officially excommunicated by Horm because of matters of wars and information to Court Chamberlain regarding the outpost. Actually, Sani Sabik involvement was a central point.

This is a very compromising statement to make and very risky Keter. So if Lady Jamyl declares after Coronation that she is a Sani Sabik follower and reinstitutes the most pure Ancient Amarrian faith to be the only legal faith, will you than still be loyal independent of her faith?

If that's the case, she should do things that displeases me instead of being involved with rumours of secret weapons and murderers of certain Joshua cultists and such... so far, I have no reason at all to be displeased. More or less I can partially agree with this. Still, you overvalue the participation of the Sani Sabik in the whole deal, but that is only natural given your current position.

No, Miss Neferis, I would never say such a thing. What I'm saying is that assassinating a non-legitimate Emperor who is usurping such a high office has been seen with good eyes in the past when the Emperor went into heresy. I believe such would be the same case here if Lady Jamyl Sarum were ever to fall into the Sani Sabik faith.

God goes before the Emperor.
Well, let's take your statement per parts:
A Legitimate Emperor or Empress is considered such once The high offices of the Empire being Court Chamberlain and Theology Council, recognizes the person as such upon Coronation. Basically this clearly states the fact that Jamyl Sarum, after Coronation will be officialy bestowed the Title of Empress and therefore, a legitimated ruler.
The assassination of a legimate ruler, is treason and crime and that is what you are endorsing Keter.
The question of an Emperor or Empress to go into heresy: The State of what is heresy and what is not, is declared by the Emperor or Empress himself/herself. If The Empress is the chosen of God, ruler and representative of the voice of God on this Universe, consequently the decisions of the Emperor or Empress is the will of God at the moment their are voiced.
To say that an Emperor or Empress can fall into Heresy is the same as declaring that God has lost the right to speak his will by his chosen one.
Furthermore, following the same sequence, If Lady Jamyl declares that the Sani Sabik faith is now the legitimate faith of the Empire, after Coronation, she is speaking with the voice of God herself.
Who are you comparing to her to make any judgement of this matter Keter? Faith at least is what that blind fool Blake has presented. He says he will abide by the will of God and Jamyl whatever it comes.
What of you, Keter?
They say that I have fallen from Gods grace by questioning Horm once on the same matter: God before the Emperor. I see that you're following the exact same path.

God kills those who fail him.
Legitimacy, Loyalist, is not a slippery term. Unless you start to doubt and question your own government. This is where the sprigs of civil revolution comes from. Or you believe and have faith in the power of your Empire to legitimate this Coronation and Jamyl as a ruler, or you don't.
If you do, you automatically accept Jamyl's nomination and Coronation as Legitimate. If you don't, you automatically doubt the system and everything that it represents, therefore incurring heresy and treason.
Only two sides of one coin Mr Loyalist. The definition of Legitimate is made by the system you will be questioning if you don't accept it.
What kind of unshakable faith that we so much hear about from lips of loyalists enthusiasts?
And now " An Emperor can go too far..." and yet he speaks by the will of God?
What sort of contradiction is this that we see rising from loyalists lips nowadays? An Emperor can only go as far as God wills it, isn't that so?
I'm finding myself positively surprised with declarations I've been reading here lately. No wonder that PIE came in a desperate attempt to silence loyalists voices early on...

Mr Cetes is right there.
As for the discussion at hand, first comes God, then comes the Empire, then comes the Emperor. If the Emperor goes against either one of the previous two, he has to step back or be put at ease. That was the case in Saint Tetrimon's murder of the Mad Emperor, as has been made reference before.
So, the Emperor (or Empress in this case) is only Legitimate as long as she remains tied to what the Empire is. In a case of High Treason as you are describing, Miss Neferis, she loses all legitimacy.

*Inara clears her throat*
May I be as bold as to ask who you, or anyone outside of the Emperor/Empress, is considered worth to define legitimacy, and decide if they've "gone too far"? Surely you wouldn't be as bold as to claim a mere citizen, even a Pilot, is worthy to decide that?
*A trademark sadists' grin crosses her face*
You must be getting desperate to feel the lash of Lady Sarum's lash if you are being this bold.
And to the rest of you, how are you to know the will of this God you claim to worship and follow? Who are you to say the one chosen by your God isn't doing what they are divinely inspired to do? I find superstitions like your Divine Mandate silly, but if you're going to claim to follow a philosophy, at least attempt to be consistent. If she is crowned, then by your own words it is God's will, if it is God's will then you have no place to question it...
*Shakes her head*
And here I was thinking the political nonsense in the Federation was an atrocity; the Empire is loosing grip on the strength and pride I remember hearing about growing up. Almost makes me miss listening to board meetings, and the cut throat negotiation tactics of State positions.

Apparently I was too bold for your tastes, I have said before that I am not as well versed in the politics of the Empire as someone who has lived there their entire life, nor do I have any desire to become acquainted with them or live under the Empire's rule. I was simply curious, and making assumptions from the words of many of the pure Amarrians I have spoken with.
My question still stands however, how can a citizen, even a Pilot, question what you consider the will of your God?
As for my outfits, your body is nothing to be ashamed of, in fact you should be proud of it. And my outfits are usually far from "scandalous", in fact I have been called a bit of a prude by several of my Gallente acquaintances. I have been "blessed" by good genetics that allow me a moderately attractive appearance, by far not the most beautiful woman in the world, and I definitely won't be winning this years "Miss New Eden" pagent, but nothing to hide or be ashamed of.
Originally by: Avel Kereka Sometimes I wonder if you're really just a sexually frustrated male.
*Inara carefully states her next words, not threateningly, but to make sure they are not misunderstood*
Let me assure you, I am a woman, just not as submissive as some Amarrian males would prefer their women to be. As for being frustrated... *a small, almost sad, laugh escapes her lips* that I am, but not in the way you mentioned. My life if full of vice, you have probably seen some of them; no, my frustration is that there has yet to be a man that I find worthy of devoting a portion of my life to for the rest of my immortal existence, nor a man that is willing to play second fiddle...
*Inara looks down momentarily before returning her gaze, once more radiating confidence*
But that is neither here nor there, my daughter, the adopted Amarrian child named Jall'n, has given me a bit more directive in life.
My comments were directed towards you, for the reason that I know what happens when undue disrespect is shown by those under me, and I have but a mere candle of power compared to the blazing sun Lady Sarum has shown to possess. Only the most masochistic of my slaves would ever question me in the same tone or manner you speak of your soon to be Mistress, makes one wonder whether you are the one that is... frustrated.

Very well, you ask and I shall reply. Besides being a pilot, I also am a scholar. My quest for knowledge is very rewarding, and one of the knowledge's I have studied is political science, and another is history. Both of which it is obvious you haven't studied, at least for the Empire.
Legitimacy in the Empire is obtained only through the prolongued backing of God, it is not a thing to be given away in a moment unlike a corporate buyout. As such, if the path of the Emperor goes too far away from God's path, such an Emperor has to be placed where he belongs in one way or the other. Usually it is nothing drastic, and is basically corrected by imperial politics and the power-struggles of the five Heir Families. When it is not, some other options are available. History shows us that it has been done, and approved, that one Emperor was taken down by the force, as he was murdered by Tetrimon; and such was the approval of such a murder, that Tetrimon was expelled from the Empire (obvious he would have a punishment, but it is important to note that the usual price for such a crime would be death) and after that was made Saint and is still worshipped by the Amarr to this day.
I'm no theologist, that's true, so I don't know what is "real deviancy" from the rule. Yet it is simple, the Sani Sabik Faith are heretics declared such by the Theology Council, and have been so for a very long time. If an Emperor were to follow such beliefs, he would be falling into a declared heresy, and thus losing the Legitimacy to Reign if he weren't set back to the rightful path of the Amarrian leader.
And now, if you would excuse us, I know you Sani Sabik like to discuss your religion in every matter, yet this topic is not about your faith in any way. Can we get back to the Amarrian Succession and stop losing time with the Sani Sabik doubts of what they believe would be a remotely possible thing to which they see dubious "signs"?

Mr. Sepherim, thank you for your information. At least someone was kind enough to explain things. You are right, I have spent little of my precious time studying the history and politics of the Empire; eventually I plan on studying those topics, but my time is currently being taken up by an energetic 8 year old.
I still don't understand how someone who can claim that the crown can only be given to one chosen by their God, yet if they feel there is some way they can question that same ascension to power. Maybe my take on your superstitions are flawed, I just assumed (apparently in error) that faith was meant to be unwavering...
As for me being Sani Sabik *Inara chuckles*, don't associate me with those superstitious people. But I will agree with your assessment that we should focus on the topic at hand, the Succession.

You must be getting desperate to feel the lash of Lady Sarum's lash if you are being this bold.
Actually dear, that's the mere reason of their desperation here: they can't. None of these loyalists are qualified to define legitimacy neither to judge it. As a matter of fact things are very simple: If Jamyl passes by the ceremony, receives her Title, holds the sceptre of Empress and at the next minute issue a declaration that Pax Amarr is heretic and all books needs to be immediately destroyed and their followers persecuted without mercy, that is exactly what it would be law. This was how the Apocrypha was condemned at first place, and any Empress or Emperor holds the power to define what is heretic and what's not under their leadership.
The fact that Jamyl, a Sarum arch traditionalist True Amarr, that endorses war, absolute command, power by military mighty and purification of race * eyes the ni-kuni so called loyalist* is what is wrecking their nerves into pieces. The fact that those are also Sani Sabik precepts, is making it worse.
They don't know what they want to believe any more and at the time they start to contest their traditions, their faith, their unconditional obedience to the future Empress to be and try to pretend that they can dictate matters of high State even impersonating her own voice... than you see the level of desperation in their words.
To me, as long as she continues to eliminate my enemies and cleansing the house as she seem to be doing, I couldn't be more satisfied.

Very well, let me check the textbooks at hand. Ah, here it is.
Legitimacy is the act of justifying a determined regime of policy. Each society can justify it in any number of ways, and under any number of conditions to which the governor has to comply in order to remain a valid ruler. As such, it can be defined by positive elements (things that a governor can do and that have to take place for him to reign) or negative ones (things a governor can't do, or things that must not take place).
One example: the Gallente legitimate their own governments by some positive elements; as such, a governor has to be elected, has to create law according to the Constitution, and has to leave his office after four years for a new election to take place. As well, it has some negative elements, being the strongest that he has to retain the confidence of the electorate, and that he has to abide by the law like any other citizen. If he stops obeying one of the positives, or falls into one of the negatives, his government is not just but tyranical, and he may be forced to leave the office or even face trial, depending on the circumstances.
With the Empire it is the same, like with all nations. We may be simpler, though, as our core rules of legitimacy are quite simple. Positive element, we have that the Emperor has to be chosen by God By a simple series of rituals that ends with Shak'tol Syn. Negative, we have the Faith, to which the Emperor has always to remain true, as encoded in the Scriptures; he can modify the Scriptures, but always within the essence of such Scriptures.
As such, the Emperor can be out of the legitimacy, because the legitimacy is external to the office. We cannot unname him Emperor, but we he can be an illegitimate Emperor, as has happened in the past, and there are ways to solve such a situation, being death the most drastic, and only used once in all our history.
Oh, and Miss Neferis, remember that the Pax Amarria is not part of our creed nor religion. It is a book written by the Emperor, true, but it is in no way part of the Scriptures. As such, it is only a collection of ideas, feelings, and philosophies written by Heideran the Second, not an obligation for all Amarr to follow and accept. |

So, let me see if I am understanding you correctly. The Emperor/Empress is put into position through the will of your God and through a set of trials. This same position has the power to speak for God and decide what is and is not "legitimate", yet if the Emperor/Empress steps outside of what someone else calls "legitimate" they can come in and assassinate them.
I fear that without a few months of dedicated reading, even with my improved mental capacity, I won't be understanding the nuances of Imperial politics. I'll keep your name on file somewhere, once my portion of the universe slows down a bit I'll be looking for the proper literature, and maybe a guiding hand should I get lost in the words.

No, the Emperor doesn't choose what is or is not legitimate, the Emperor "only" writes law and guides the nation. In a certain way, legitimacy comes from the bond between the people of the Empire and the Emperor, it is the things the Emperor must be or do in order to have their backing and approval.

I'm afraid you're wrong, Mr Cetes. A dictatorship like that can be legitimate in case the people approve of it and it's beliefs, being as such legitimated by public acceptance and ideals. Or it can be an illegitimate government, but one strong enough to resist even they lack such a legitimacy. |

You did well in bringing up that news flash. It shows one of many ôwhyÆs we got hereö.
It shows how principles have been bended over time, even by those who had a ôhardlinerö and extremist reputation. Well, most of those. Fortunately, there is a few of ôusö that still hold principles in their lives, no matter how difficult that can prove.
Sarum had always been a house champion of those traditionalists and pro-reclaiming wings. TheyÆve always advocate for a more active response on foreign affairs. That makes them favorites of many in empire, in the Kingdom, TetrimonÆs and even Manudeists including myself.
Despite some reserves while the explanations necessary had been given, the return of someone who many of us believed could get us back on the right track could be praised. By the time that statement was made it could be subscribed by many, even myself with a few reservations.
Unfortunately, what followed was much too serious to oversight. All the basis of what had been our tradition after the moral reforms were trashed. All traditionalist voices were silent, even those IÆd expect to hear from someone as Yonis Ardishapur himself.
Every major agent and authority went along with what was made, and the masses prepare to join that mob too. All in the name of a war and all in the name of a champion as Jamyl Sarum.
DonÆt get me wrong, Sarum was one of my champions and favorites. IÆve always believed it would take a strong leadership and role model like her, with strong views and true amarrian blood and heritage on its veins, to turn the empire back on GodÆs way.
Yet, all but maybe blood was drained from that role model that is no more. Strong views turned much too short and heritage was simply left to the pigeons.
Horm and the current TetrimonÆs are just one more sign of the times we face and what we are no longer. They will oversight the principles in the name of a ôgreater goodö as its usually called.
I say, greater goods and greater causes are only given to those deserving and not to those who follow the tides.

Do you know what is the foundation of a dictatorship? Fear. Fear of the army, fear of the leader. Would the people even attempt to storm the guards, knowing that they were not only forfeiting their own lives, but those of their family and loved ones as well. When the masses are beaten into submission through force and fear, their is no where for dissent for form. I have to respectfully disagree with you on this point. The best control is not exerted through fear, well, not completely through fear, but respect. Sometimes, yes, respect walks hand in hand with fear, but it is the respect that will keep things in order.
Unfortunately for the Empire, I'm picking up little respect and a lot of fear towards Lady Sarum.

One could argue that the traditional ways had decayed to such a point that we were blathering on about peace as the other Empires picked at our carcass; others, that tradition must be adhered to no matter where it takes us. If it becomes self-defeating, do we still follow it? Or do we break its rotten shell in the hopes of restoring it to what it once was, regardless of the cost?

It's five years for the federal Legislature and the office of President. Planetary and local governors, many go by 5 years but it varries from planet to planet, and city/town municipalities might hold council elections as often as once a year.

A Biography of our Empress.
Quote:
Jamyl is one of very few female heiressÆ in the history of the Amarr Empire. Not only that, but she is also one of the more belligerent and aggressive of the heirs. Early on she became renown for her lust for battle and her father secured a command post within the Amarr military when she was still in her early twenties. By 30 she had established herself as a fearsome fighter, never shirking from an encounter; as well as a resourceful and cunning leader. In her time Jamyl has served both as Commander of the Imperial Fleet and as War Minister, in both cases the first time a woman has held such a position.
JamylÆs views about the world are very the same as those of most military leaders through the ages - she sees the world in black and white and is totally convinced that the Amarr Empire is the greatest of the empires. She firmly believes that it was a big mistake to renounce the Reclaiming, the effort to conquer the whole world, and it is widely understood that if she would ever become empress (there has ever only been one Amarr empresses in the past) the empire would turn sharply from its current policy of peace and compromising to a much more aggressive and expansionist one.

Thank you Miss Brightman, I ignored those small details, it is good to know them.

And in light of all this the Amarr still, without sarcasm, ask us why we don't want to play nice with them. I ask you. -----

Power, Mighty and Wars.
And people still wonder why she is perfect to rule, even for Sani Sabik standards.

That's a very good point, mr. Kereka. It's worth reminding that every single tradition we adhere to this day was, at its own time, revolutionary actions. Only the belief in the Light must be true and sincere troughout the ages.

Why, would that not be Falek Grange and his ilk?
I've heard things about the welfare of that man... terrible things. A former immortal now, is this not true? A capsuleer with his "wings clipped," as it is said. How profoundly peculiar. For a man so dedicated to his faith... to his god... well, for a man like that, he certainly has been afforded little protection. To fall from such a position to the state of a mere mortal... why, surely he must, in actuality, be a sinner of colossal proportions.
In fact... I seem to remember hearing some rather terrible stories of this man. A true servant to his faith, he must have been. *scoffs*

And so it is done.
This means nothing more than a new target officially on the firing line for assassins. Your demon God did not save your last ruler, Amarr. If she foolishly passes within range of my guns, I will do everything I can to ensure he fails to protect this one too.
Who knows though, maybe she will just clone herself again... ------ Mirkur Draug'Tyr :: Recruitment |

I'm sorry, what? Got something wrong with my translator here, and running that sentence through it again doesn't seem to help. Can you please rephrase it?
((OOC: Nice roleplaying there. The French were only around like, what, 20 millenia ago, and we know about 0.1% of what went on before the EVE gate collapse?)) |
