Originally by: Darken Two This is one very weird thread. I never thought I would be here to see the day when CA corps, PA corps and Celest all agree on an issue and even promise support. It seems Carbide isnt alone.
True that. That's almost as strange as the vaunted 2 hour ceasefire bewteen SA and CA forces, due to the heavy lag less than a week ago.
Truth is stranger than fiction ;)

In the meeting where Crytek's leadership made demands to Carbide Industries on the penalty of war, they clearly stated they would declare war on anyone supporting Carbide Industries in this matter.
People from both XIF and CA were present in that meeting, in a cooperative way attending despite a hot war of weeks. And by statements of Crytek, (the member corps of) both XIF and CA will get involved due to Crytek declaring war on both. Just as CoD stands behind Crytek, based on their membership, does CoD expect CA or XIF to do otherwise once Crytek holds its word and declares war on CA/XIF corps ?
Also, please bear in mind that huge wars have been started for less reasons than in responds to an outright threat of war....
I urge CoD to realise they are sitting on a powder keg and resolve the matter by diplomatic means. CoD stands a lot to win in terms of respect by the community upon resolving this absurd matter. And more to lose than they can imagine if they let things explode ...

Just for the record - we've only declared war on Carbide.
So don't put words in our mouth.
If we declare war on anyone else - I'll be sure to release a statement saying just that.
We welcome any corporation would like to declare war with us - and at this point, we don't even care about your pathetic little reasons.
Just do it.

Nope. This war should not be happening.

I haven't seen any pathetic reasons. On the other side, I haven only seen Shinra officially saying they'll go to war... We will probably keep you KOS since you seem to be made up of "ex" pirates who still kill innocents and admit to doing it.
Edit: As usual I'm not official spokesman and this might change yada yada

This is absolutely true. You can't ask for a lot of it back. You work with your friends as long as your goals are similar, and you cannot ask them later to repay you because the money that you made for them was already used to either protect your ship or protect you politically so that you can do things that you like.
You should, however, just stop working for a corporation at a first hint that your contribution to the corporation is starting to get wasted or that you are not being appreciated. Because if all your worth to the corp is in giving money to it then when you stop giving money then you will not be liked, and if you will not be liked when you stop giving money then why be in that corp? There are a lot of bad CEOs and leaders in Eve. Just because you met them when the game went retail does not make them good ppl.

There is no cant or should in the world of eve since there isnt anybody to enforce those policys you think apply. The only thing that matters in eve is who has the biggest gun(and frankly that doesnt matter a whole lot with that 12 weak insurance thingy). These members feel exploided and used and its perfectly understandable they want something in return because it hurts being used.

It is not established that they were exploited. Just because they feel that they were does not make them so. In this game there are things that happen outside of the mining field and the miners are not aware of them quite often. After all the political game is what the CEOs like about Eve. The good thing for miners is that since they were making so much money for the corp when they leave that corp this eliminates a huge hole in their wallet which means that the miners will soon be ridiculously rich. On the other hand the corporation that relied on them is more broke than ever before without their worker bees.

How can anyone who got 2 Free BSs and a loan to buy 70mills worth of implants claim to have been exploited?
Its pretty clear that carbide is more financially transparent than more or less any other corp Ive heard of. All your claims of ebay and theft are totally unjustified and a silly cover to your own greed. You were a member of a communist corp, and got 2 free BS, thats more than the vast majority of eve have.
Sit down, STFU and stop playing the 'injured smallguy'. You're a pirate and a wannabe corp thief, simple as that.

I work mining for Carbide Industries. They in turn make a profit from my efforts. They invest this profit into me (new ships, mods, ammo) and the into the corp (buying BPO's).
The corp also makes me (and all other members) BPC's of ANYTHING the corp owns a BPO for. I WANT them to get more BPO's. It benefits all corp members! Key words here are CORP MEMBERS. If I leave the corp after I helped them obtain those BPO's I certainly DO NOT have a right to make claim for them. They were purchased with corp profits FOR CORP MEMBERS USAGE; NOT for corp member OWNERSHIP. The collective corp owns them.. end of story.
When you quit the corp, you lost access to these benefits. Get over it! You knew all along how this system worked and had NO problem participating during your stay. I can't believe you were able to convince ANYONE that YOU were victims.

as a neutral i find this whole carbide/crytek thing intresting and ive posted on the thread where opinions were asked about the whole compensation thing, cash bpo's etc, ive already posted on that thread with my thoughts, so i want to ask a couple of questions just to satisfy my curiosty,
1. why didnt the ex-carbide members ask for some sort of severence package when they left carbide? 2. why after time has passed do they decide to ask for a severence package? 3. why do crytek support their claims?
now these are just questions from a intrested neutral observer, so dont flame me if thats ok, but as i said on the other thread there is quite obviously a hidden agenda here, unless of course crytek has proof of underhand activities by carbide against the ex carbide members now in crytek, but i doubt this, after all we wouldve seen the proof by now.
also its this neutral observers humble opinion that crytek wanted a war, as the demands made by them namely bs bpos or massive ammounts of isk are totally unacceptable to anybody regardless of circumstances knowing full well carbide would never accept, and who could blame them, the demands made and so lead to war.
I picked up this ace book today everyone rates it as a must buy for the budding military genius, tho ive decided to rename it as "Sun Tzu's art of the bloody obvious" |

LOL. Funny thread.
1st off, take a hike you PA/NCA hijackers, we're talking about killing some corp theft and pvp wannabe scum here, not about the righteoeness of life .
2nd, Latta/Lotta is a good guy, and out of all the FA corporations, I would have to say that Carbide was the best, and most honourable.
3rd, because my brothers in arms of Shinra and OC are going to town (war) on these 'crytek' guys, So is SIM! (Or at least I am), prepare to meet the fate of asteroids! (obliteration in a less then civil way).

I would jump at that offer, cause in my effors to get my first bs, it was mining all the stupid low ores that took teh most time. ninja mining all the mega and zyd in my cruiser in cfs took less than 2 weeks. after castor with stronger npc's, its alot harder to do.

Edited by: Celestial Voice on 20/06/2004 15:05:09 Celestial Apocalypse were NOT bribed by COD. A mistake was made by some Crytex pilots and they compensated the pilot involved for his loss.
COD have apoligised to us for this issue, and been more than helpful in trying to sort it out. Many Cyrtex pilots have negative security ratings as they are ex-pirates. Celestial Apocalypse has always maintained that pirates can change and reform. We have assurances that they are not currently pirating neutrals and we will keep a watchful eye.
Celestial Apoclaypse have neutral second accounts for which we "test for pirates" and if crytex are found wanting they will recieve our full attention.
Celestial Apocalypse cannot be bribed, we are "untouchables" albeit financially poor ones .

This conflict has been fascinating to follow. I believe I have read every related thread in its totality and even the carbide forums at eve-i in my desire to understand this conflict at its roots. At several points opinions were asked for and I offer my unbiased thoughts based on what I have read...
1. If the ex-members of carbide (the claimants) were pursuing compensation on some sort of "legal" ground, I believe their claims would have to be ruled as irrational and unfounded. They joined a "socialist" corp with full knowledge of its charter and membership policies. After eight months of membership they cannot claim ignorance, and they have little ground to stand on when citing abuse and "slave" labor conditions. There is a little button called "resign from corp" which prevents most if not all slavery in EVE. The idea of a ceo or directors milking their corp for ebay profits boils my blood, but even if the alleged were true in this case, how would that entitle the claimants to even 10 isk? Leave the corp, or stop contributing.
2. Seeing no rational "legal" basis to support the claimants case, I am forced to conclude, with the knowledge I have, that the conflict is really about wanting restitution for personal emotional injury. I sense that someone had a personality conflict, or they did not feel appreciated, or that they had an expectation which was not met. The claimants may have an strong case if they were to argue that their corp was stingy, but I think no right to demand monetary restitution because of it.
Personally, I sympathize with wanting my corp contributions to be recognized and in the end to turn out to be a profitable personal investment which fattens my bank account. But in the end analysis I think the claimants have only themselves to blame. If you are going to go to war demanding compensation for your service in CI, then dont do it under the guise of "justice." Do it under the rightful flag of "vengeance" and "extortion". Youre ****ed off because you feel taken for granted and your feelings were hurt.. fine. Declare war if that is how you respond when your feelings have been hurt.
I think you should have taken the 1 billion offered, it was more than genereous in my opinion. Bullies don't deserve to be rewarded for their strong-arm tactics and you are a bully when you open "negotations" aiming a loaded,*****ed, and hair-triggered gun. Just my personal opinion.
"The direct use of force is such a poor solution to any problem, it is generally employed only by small children and large nations." ~David Friedman
