-) Yesterday I was robbed by two guys in a sl0.4 system. They shoot at my indy and force me to drop my cargo. They have an security level of 10.0 and 8.6 û also after the robbery ! -) There is an guy with an overpowered maler, shooting down some of our corp cruisers without any warning in an sl0.3 system at different times. He has an security level vary between 2.1 and 6.2.
I understand that such actions are part of the gameplay. But I think, if the security level should be an indicator of the status as good/bad boy (or girl) it must have some more meaning than æhas killed more pirates than playersÆ.
I propose to make the loss of security by attacking much more higher than benefit by pirate killing. Or better, let the security level drop dramatically if someone repeat an illegal action within a time slot. E.g.: 1. attack on a player with sl > 0.0: sl drop by 0.1 2. attack within one hour : sl drop by 0.2 3. attack within tow hours : sl drop by 0.4

It already has been pretty much fixed, it just takes time for the changes to take effect. Last patch the boost you could get from killing pirates was nerfed considerably - to about 10% of what it was. For killing an invader I now get like .0001 points.

Yes, the points from killing pirates are nerved û but this may be not enough. An invader is a very low thread pirate, bigger ones give much more. If you can shoot down an cruiser with tree shoots, you will not waste time killing invaders to balance your security level.
The point is, I am not a good boy if only ever other kill is a player (with sl > 0.0).
The current calculation of security levels may be a good way to get fraction standings, but it can not be used to see how respectable a player is.
May be I misunderstand the meaning of the player security level and it is not intended as a good/bad boy indicator.
Then it will be nice to get some personal information in a player info window, as: +) kills total +) kills of player with sl > 0.0 +) attacks total +) attacks on players with sl > 0.0
+) best/worst sl ever (?)

You may also be forgetting that not only do you have an overall security level, but you have faction levels as well.
IE someone can have a 10.0 security leve, but say if their caldari navy faction is -6.0 they'll be tornup by calnavy units.
It is all listed udner your standings. Give it a little time, some people have foudn out the hard way that they are screwed by their past actions (eve-IX.com anyone)

well this only addresses part of the issue. I was killing Cruisers in a 0.3 for days and getting no Security Status increase. With the latest patch things are completely mixed up: when I kill a Cruiser Pirate I get a message for killing the most basic lvl rate, and when I kill a basic on approach to a gate I get a message for a Cruiser lvl rate....
So as far as I can tell the whole system is FUBAR beyond belief!!
