Edited by: Kirja on 27/09/2008 12:28:04 It's 23 capitals killed against 24 capitals lost according to new RA killboard. 278 ships killed against 120 ships lost in total. Killboard posts kills automatically so it should be quite accurate.
Props for a great fight. One of the best i ever had.

Because the battle lasted some three hours, the killboards battle summaries are split.
The whole fight isnt on one battle summary for either RA or FDN.
Combine the battle reports from both reports on both sides and check the kills and losses.
It was a very bloody battle for both sides. But I think the true outcome was clearly a significant capital ship kill advantage for FDN, while RA certainly killed many more of our battleships.

In those 23 kills are 2-3 RA friendlies that should be counted as your losess and removed from kills.

Good point. Actually those 2 should be added to RA losses. So it's ~21 capitals killed against ~26 capitals lost. Still a good fight.

RA dreads lost:
1. Farlat 2. Guy Gaal 3. Second Daos 4. Shoushpancheeck 5. Moresugar1 6. Osant (TG) 7. devnull 8. Link Sayrus 9. Freelancer'Spb 10. SteeLady 11. Mr4ex 12. ralphie tsingtao (TG) 13. Amfitaminka 14. Locust L 15. Komcor 16. drackar 17. Rastishka 18. Bars2004
RA carriers lost:
1. Topmaz 2. cikillu 3. Kirja 4. MacMyHe 5. Wolf Messing (TG) 6. Intra 7. Den MConan 8. Kait Pirvintin 9. Intrila 10. Maxyyy (TG) 11. Deiv Grogan
Terrorist Group (RA allies) are marked with 'TG'.
So total RA + friends lost 29 capitals.
Foundati0n lost 9 dreads and 9 carriers, along with 3 allied losses* = 21 capitals
*(I think Lafond from Electus Matari lost a Naglar which isn't on your board, so it might be 4 allied losses).
So Foundation and allies killed 29 - 21 on caps overall and 18-10 on dreads. FDN also held the field.
Good fight!

Lag was terrible.. I had to drop to window mode, drop to 1024*768 resolution, drop AA and AF off, take every effects etc off... And then i went from 1-2 FPS to 11-12 FPS
But it was still great fight.

Great Wildlands has been home to some good fights lately and this was no exception. It's unusual perhaps to see so much POS fighting in an NPC region but the lack of cynojammers make it attractive for cap fleets to duke it out.
With a lot more cap kills, and especially 18-10 on dreads, I think it's fair to say we won the fight (holding the field too) though the cost was significant and RA fought to the bitter end. To some extent they had no choice in that (several of our carriers were anchoring t2 large bubbles to forces a decisive outcome one way or the other) but then nor did we.
The fight was so long that we actually missed the chance to loot a few of the early wrecks by the time our carrion haulers set about their grim task of picking through the remains
By the end the field had 50 capital wrecks.

Jimmie: No, No, No, No, let me ask you a question. When you came pulling in here, did you notice a sign out in front of my POS that said Dead Cap Storage? Jules: Jimmie, you know I ain't seen no... I'm impressed FDN were able to coordinate a big fleet. I looked them up ingame last night and they have a huge pile of tiny corps.

the thing about being in FDN is you feel like your in FDN, not a corp in an alliance. It was a massive fight, i had to relog once when i couldnt target things. said i was in the pos shields and i was about 30km from the pos on my screen. but upon relogging i got a packet doesnt belong msg and i had to force eve closed and relog again. the entire time my fighters were still on a dread untill i warped and the fighters THANK GOD returned to my carrier. woot for bugs!

Seems like a lot of losses happening in M-M for you guys... Down to the last couple systems are we?
you also should mention in this thread that you lost 2 carriers and several dozen BS and support to a gang in your front yard today. over 100 BS lost, I hope your not one of those communist corps that replace everyone's crap fitted BS.

In the week, you mean? 100 BS lost in a busy(ish) week, but you've got to look at what gets killed. Still 52bil damage (just hulls) for 38bil lost in that week, and nice fights like the one described in this thread. And living in GW means no cynojammers, so caps are both killed and die in their ones and twos most days All gf

FOUNDATION are really good at baiting hotdrops. I remember a few times fighting them in Curse, they'd bait out our fleets and then hotdrop carriers... a few times it backfired but sometimes well exected! :)

You forgot to mention that you guys lost 68 battleships....
Battleships are fodder, no one cares. Take it this fight was over a moon? Any info on what the build up to this was?
funny then how some entities have folded just from a couple bs fleets getting DD......
they may not be equivalent to dread losses however they still matter.
Not really. I lose only about 10 mil on a fully t2 fitted sniper bs loss(mega).
For most people this number won't be more than 30mil. You can lose 20 bs for each carrier kill and still come out ahead.

Yar, thats really my feeling - Some of my pilots actually make profit from losses due to corp policy i think, but we aim to cover rigs since most of my guys don't mission/rat enough to make their own.
Fact is, even if we assume every capital loss is insured (which sometimes isn't the case) and don't count the modules, its 300m lost on a carriers insurance - 25m Lost on a battleships, on sheer insurance losses alone you can lose 12 Battleships for one carrier.
68 Battleships < 9 Carriers in terms of insurance costs alone (like 1.3B vs 2B) - In terms of rigs and modules you have to consider a carriers full compliment of fighters (12m Each, which is equivalent to 10 rigs really), Capital modules (50m Each), T2 Fit and THEN its own rigs - And lets not start on dreads. The fact people keep coming back out despite losing their BS shows the general consensus on this.
To consider we killed 8 more dreads and the same number of carriers, well, we could have lost a hell of alot more BS and still came out ontop in terms of damage actually inflicted. Though, to be honest, we might have ran out of ships if we really pushed to that point because who the hell keeps ten spare fitted battleships lieing around
