The queuing process would be best served client-side.
Lag is irrelevent on the client-side. The client would have the queue up, and it would tell the server to activate for each number of queues..
So just like now.. if you press a slot to activate it.. If there's lag, the button doesn't start flashing green. And if the slot doesn't flash green, the queue would still be waiting.
But basically lag does screw up most other things.

Have you played Neverwinter nights?
They show the queue as a list of icons in the top left corner of the screen. Performing actions in game simply adds items to the queue - your character in game then does each queued task to completion before moving to the next task. Especially usefull for spell casters in combat, they can setup the sequence of spells they want to cast without waiting for the previous spell to complete.
Anyway, the point is that with the visible icons representing the queued activations, the icons in the queue can be clicked to cancel them.

exactly.. that could work. But I would request that these icons in the top corner, be no bigger than 10x10 pixels or somethin.
But even still.. the rightclick menu could be devoid of any options at first. Unless ofcourse if you have a queue in process, then there could be a couple new options on the popup menu when you rightclick a slot. One option to remove one queue, and one option to abort all queues in process with the current slot.
If you could create shortcuts to remove queues for each slot. I would set it up like this.. Right now I use:
F1 through F8 to activate high slots. Ctrl+1 through Ctrl+8 to activate mid slots. Alt+1 through Alt+8 to activate low slots.
So for the shortcut keys to remove one queue in the specified slot. I would use the SHIFT key in conjuction..
Like this: Shift+F1 through Shift+F8 to remove one active high slots queue. Shift+Ctrl+1 through Shift+Ctrl+8 to remove one active mid slots queue. Shift+Alt+1 through Shift+Alt+8 to remove one active low slots queue.
Simple..

Shift + Click to remove 1 activation from the queue as well?
