I got over 7,000,000 m/s in a Ferox by flying into the center of a star.
It was worth the four hours it took to make the bookmark. But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started.

It's fun when you get speedy bump in small fast ship; it becomes pain in clumsy large one.
Steps to reproduce the annoyance: 1. Get cargo fitted carrier 2. Jump to an alt with cyno frigate, but have his ship blown right when you're entering 3. End up in random spot nearby in the system, and have it by chance to be in the middle of the sun 4. See your carrier speeding away with some excessive irrelevant speed, have fun and take screen shots till you realize that how long it takes before you've slowed down in such clumsy ship. 5. Log out and back till you've figured it doesn't change anything.

That can't be right. Going that distance in warp would take 26 days- in a covops (13.5 AU/s).

It was right. That's why he petitioned to be moved - it would have taken him over a month to reach the nearest jumpgate or station.
It was a pretty nasty bug, and I don't remember exactly what triggered it, but every so often if you got too close to an anchored container, you'd bounce off at INSANE speeds - like thousands of AU a second. I never got kicked more than about 500AU away from everywhere, which was bearable. ________________________________________________

@ the person who said 31 million AU isn't right: yes, it's not right, but it was far from impossible since a long while ago, MWD stacked with each other. You could have all MWD's working and what you'd end up with is: (((speedx500%)x500%)x500%)x500% etc.
@ how to make a bookmark in the sun: this is difficult, but there is a badger mkII in the middle of the sun in the Dital system I believe (0.5). Scan it down in a covert ops, bookmark it just as you come out of warp, be thrown out of the sun, get bigger ship, repeat. As to how to make one from scratch, I'd say making 2 bookmarks on either side of the sun, then using a ship that warps slowly to bookmark closer and closer to the sun till you make a bookmark inside of it. Get big ship, enjoy silly speeds :)

You though nanoships were annoying? I used to fly a Punisher that went 6km/s using afterburners. Really big afterburners. About as close to impossible to shoot down as you could get. Top fun. "I got soul but I'm not a soldier" |

That's basically how I did it. Found a system with warpable objects all around the sun and warped between three different locations making bookmarks mid-warp to shorten the trips. When I finally got one close enough (about 130kms) I just slowboated to the center.
The actual spot you get thrown out of is approximately 40kms from the center. You have to use the tactical display to see this because when you're inside the sun it will always say "0km" when you target it. That "0km" area seems to be about 1,000,000km wide or so, depending on the actual size of the star. But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started.
