"Engage warp" button/command would allow a player to go into warp in whatever direction the ship is facing without having to "warp to" something, and would utilize the existing mechanics for entering warp. Disengaging warp would be accomplished by using the ctrl-space command (i.e. stop ship) and would use the existing mechanic for exiting warp. The distance/time a ship could warp would be cap based or limited by some fixed "navigational limitation" (i.e. built in game mechanic) to prevent warping off into Jove space, for example. It seems kind of odd that ships cannot simply warp in any direction they want without having to use a bookmark or whatever.
Give us an option for a graphics setting that replaces existing models (i.e. asteroids, stations, ships, junk) with symbology like the "NATO Type" symbology used in tactical sims like Harpoon. This would be really useful for major fleet type stuff and just might help you (CCP) cut back on slide show backlash when dreads bump heads. As an option, CCP might be able to have the system revert to this graphics setting whenever a certain "demand threshold" is met with regard to ships and lag. It might not be as pretty as the full model graphics, but it might make fleet battles a bit more manageable and faster moving. |

Funny and low lag.
Although, now that you've brought roids up... why not have them diminish the effectiveness, tracking, and locking of ships and weapons when inside a belt?

the back story on how warp drives explicitly states this isnt possible. the warp drive needs a gravitational beacon to lock onto as a signal to drop out of warp. - PvPers always say "GB2WoW". the message is that EVE is hard, and people just need to deal with it. wasn't it funny how when nano's started making it hard for *them*, that all went out the window? |
