anyone getting good damage with the 425's? i never seem to get more than 25 dmg, which is less than the 200mm... thats orbiting at about 5km where i get the "best" hits.
im using 3xAssault on my rupture, and i need a good short range weapon that will rip **** apart.. should i maybe switch to electrons?

...get a lil closer... I managed to get over 40 dmg with them... easy. Consider fitting some tracking mods. Oh and rupture works better with howies. -------------------

i use 2x 425 ac's on my maller for point defense when hunting blaster rats... both before and after patch i get 35-60 with 40ish being the avg..
that using phased plasma at anywhere from 2k-9k... can hit at 15k on occaiosn too...
i tend to use 2 low slot trackers alot on the maller..which helps keep the numbers high... but get those numbers with no mods as well..
(i have meager gunnery skils, but good tracking skills...)

425mm autocannons rock.
Armor tank a Rupture, buckle your seat belt, and you are in for a wild and crazy ride.
It's fun.

it's probably a tracking issue.. what are you shooting at with that setup?
if you're shooting at frigs, don't expect to do over that unless they mwd, and approach fairly straigh
agaist cruisers.. tracking is they key.. tracking and gnnery skills.. if you're orbiting each other, there will be high transversal velocities, and your guns need uber tracking
that;s why i use 3 125mm ac's on my rifter, 0.35 tracking, with middling skills

Edited by: Prodigious on 21/06/2004 04:11:28 i was shooting at my stationary stabber..
i switched to phased plasma and am doing around 40 dmg now. i guess i just gotta train my skills and stick on a tracking comp.
um, so u suggest i switch to a faster tracking ac then? i still havent tested this setup in pvp.. i guess i should.
edit: this is strictly for pvp purposes... i use howies for npcs, but those wouldnt do too well against another player. right?

howies = sniper guns against big targets, IE: 250 and 280mm frigate sized ones for cruisers, 650 and 720 cruiser sized ones for stationary cruisers and BS, 1200 and 1400 for long range sniping. Ah.. just don't forget to bring a sniper scope, since these guns lack one -------------------
