I've looked for a way to turn this off - If I've missed it apologies.
When you get hit the screen shakes. Same when going into warp. I have epilepsy so it can make it very difficult to watch this. There are filters that can be put over the screen to 'dull' the flashes and what not, but as for the rapid shaking about there is little that can be done.
A option to turn off camera shake would be hugely appreciated.
Cheers

Agreed, I dont suffer any perticular illnesses like epilepsy etc but I must say this is the only game that if I play for too many hours I start to feel sick and sometimes even have balance issues, which is all down to the shaking of the screen.
so yes i think it would be a good idea to have the option to turn this off especially for the benefit of people with illnesses like the guy above.

Play guitar hero for an hour or two, everything will look like its streching upwards its sooo weird.
But anyway they do need to implement away to disable the screen shake, it damned annoying that i have all the effects and everything disabled to make the big fleet fights playable, but i still have to deal wit this stupid screen shake. Please resize image to a maximum of 400 x 120, not exceeding 24000 bytes. If you would like further details please mail [email protected] ~Saint |

Totally agree, need a way to turn this off. Even if it doesn't make you sick, it can be annoying. There are also client performance issues et al.

/signed. Personally I think that when something (I think) is simple to be incorporated into the game, if not already, should be top priority when in a health related issue. One other option is to practice playing in tactical view, I do not think it shakes...

I agree with this, I've been playing the game for about 1,5 years now and the screen shaking is the one thing that can irritate me more then when I sometimes hit a lagspike on the servers.
I hope this gets taken care of soon.. |

Edited by: Yaturi on 04/10/2008 17:22:35 I honestly dont know how you guys could get sick from it because I hardly notice the shaking at all when i'm getting barraged by missles. But I guess some people may be different and epileptics, even though rare, I feel should be catered to.
so /signed for it being an on/off option |

I just shake my head in sync with the screen to nullify the effect.
I do support the option to turn it on/off. |

Yea, I always thought that the option to turn it off would be great!
Or, maybe even a slider so that you can at least tweak the amount of camera-shake from zero to utter nausea?
Maybe this should also affect missile collision related camera-shake too?

From the patch notes:
Quote: You can now disable camera shaking which both disables camera shake when missiles hit and when you're in warp.
Thank you so much

I'm thankful for this too, the number of times I've ended up accidentally targeting an acceleration gate or something because my screen is shaking all over the place..
In Guristas missions it's like you're in an earthquake or something... er, a spacequake I guess.

I totally agree with this, i hate that screen shake!
I mean, we live inside a liquid filled pod, so if the ship is shaking, which makes no sense, during warp inilization, then we shouldn't be affected by it, and thus not see it.
My only guess is they put it there, becuase they didn't want to copy Star Trek's stretching motion, like everything is pulled like a rubber band when they go to warp.
