I have been having this absolutely horrible problem which basically prevents me from even playing the game in any real sense. When I am in space and rotate my camera in some directions the screen will go completely grey. Most of the time I am able to rotate back but I have pretty much been flying purely by overview for awhile now. This all started with one of the more recent patches, maybe 3 ago now. I have been doing alot of searching in these forums and on the internet and there seems to be no solution and the only constant seems to be a ATI video card.
What I am looking for are any possible solutions and to see if there are anymore details that can be gathered from the other people with the problem to try to narrow down the cause.
Gateway E-295C Tablet 1.8Ghz Core2 Duo Mobility Radeon HD 2300 128MB Omega 3.8.442 drivers 2GB RAM

Tried with the driver from Gateway or with standard ATI-driver (if there is one)?

RisenPheonix,
Try installing an ATI Catalyst Driver instead of the mobility driver. EVE is known to have issues with ATI mobility cards. For more information you should look in the "knowledge base" tab.
Unfortunately I experience this exact same problem and I'm using a Radeon X1650. I have an Athlon X64 Duel Core 4200+ chipset. It's a couple years old now, but it still keeps up with everything, but this particular EVE problem.
Let me ask you this? Did you play before the first Empyrian Age patch? I didn't have this problem until the first patch was released.
